It's bad praxis to quote-dunk, but I think this is about the most condensed example I've seen of that kind of self-assured smugness in a long time. We haven't lost yet, we aren't giving up without a fight, and we aren't going to less the common good go quietly into the night because FOMO.
When your adversary tells you you will necessarily lose, do not take their advice and give up. Keep fighting.

Who knows. Maybe we'll lose, and the whole open source experiment was for nothing. Maybe the eugenicists will enclose the whole commons, put it up for rent, and no one will be able to use a computer again without giving them money. But maybe we'll win. Maybe this all means something, and fighting right now is worth it. Or maybe we'll win on some parts and lose on others. Who knows? Armin doesn't, and I surely don't. That's why I keep fighting.
