Though I really want an electric tow car, it would be so much better.
I was just saying to Sue that I want to look into those solar PV chargers for maintaining the car's 12V battery.
I've heard the dashboard ones are pretty useless, but not how much area of PV would work.

@Maker_of_Things@cupoftea.social @hollowman@fosstodon.org I used a small solar panel about 1 foot square rather than the 6 inch by 9 inch ones and it worked (kept my car starting despite being parked up for days at a time). without it in winter I was only doing short trips and all in the dark, so the battery wasn't getting properly topped up, meaning I kept needing the jump pack.
