Bore da bydoedd! Good morning worlds! We are taking Mum shopping this morning, and then I need to try and fix the trailer coupling, phone my pension provider, phone a Leicester window cleaner, and figure out what else I can pack to take to storage. It is gonna be a bit busy today. Edit: I also need to pop over to the tyre shop to get three more tyres to match the one we had to get for Midge on Friday, after the motorway blowout. #BoreDaBydoedd #GoodMorningWorlds

Today I struggled to wake up, So very tired. Had breakfast, And gave Mum a big hug. Took Scout out, Towing the trailer. Went to fill up with diesel, Almost £100! Drove over to Machynlleth, And unloaded the trailer. Had lunch and headed back home. Parked up on the drive, And went into work. Did caretaking, And came home. Tidied up all the ratchet straps, And disconnected the trailer. Researched changing the coupling damper, I shall give it a go tomorrow. Checked on Mum, Then had a gas leak check....

@jarkman@chaos.social No idea what hit us. It hit the rear OS door, then partially split the tyre before being shot across the carriageway. A few seconds later, the tyre burst open.

Bore da bydoedd! Good morning worlds! I have overslept this morning. I really needed the extra sleep, and could do with a morning in bed. But I am off to meet Sue at work in a bit. When we get back we will be heading off to Leicester for the weekend, sorting stuff at Sue's Mum's house. #BoreDaBydoedd #GoodMorningWorlds

Today we went to the community workshop, And I helped teach how to use a coping saw. Then we went to vacuum water out of a flooded basement, Hopefully for the last time. Then loaded more workshop stuff into the trailer, And sheeted and strapped it down. Emails with our estate agent, Another option on selling our house. Did caretaking, And sorted some rubbish from the recycling. Joined in MakersHour, It was a good one. Very tired now, So off to bed. #NosDa #NightAll

Q4: @MakersHour@cupoftea.social I have also worked in education (hence the learning theme). How would you go about teaching your creative/maker skills to other interested people? A4: I tend to go with a ‘show and tell’ process of demonstrating. The learning is broken down into bite sized steps and worked through in stages with the learner watching, having a go, and asking questions. The processes are then practised and guided until the learner is happy. I would also make adjustments to my met...

Q1: @MakersHour@cupoftea.social Good evening (or morning, or afternoon if you’re not in Europe) folks, I hope you’re all well. Who’re you and what new thing have you learnt this week? A1: Hello, I am Alfred, maker, carer, caretaker, and miniaturist story teller. I have learnt that a hefty bop on the head is not to be taken lightly, even if it didn’t hurt at the time. Also, there is a lovely house in Wales that would really work for us, and I am going to be upset if we miss the chance wi...

Q3: @MakersHour@cupoftea.social On that theme, one of my reasons for making is I 'Make to Learn’. How do you go about learning new things/skills? A3: I immerse myself in it, reading and watching videos about how a thing is done, thinking constantly about it, dreaming about it, and sketching and writing about it. I will ‘practice’ the concepts by going round and round in my head how a thing works, and how it can be adapted to other use cases. However, this is practical and physical th...

Bore da bydoedd! Good morning worlds! We are off to the community workshop, and then back to the church hall to pump out more water from the flooded basement. Then I need to finish loading the trailer, and get it strapped and sheeted. #BoreDaBydoedd #GoodMorningWorlds

Bore da bydoedd! Good morning worlds! I am planning an adjustment to the temporary carport I built a decade ago. It is free standing, and I need to make it a little wider by splaying its legs, at one end, out a bit so that the car flat trailer can get under there. It will either be a fairly easy job, or the idea will be abandoned part way through and everything put back as it was..... #BoreDaBydoedd #GoodMorningWorlds

Today we had eggs for breakfast, As is tradition. Then we decided to run away, But to make running away useful. We loaded some furniture into Midge, To take it to our Wales storage unit. We stopped off at Oswestry services, So Midge could have a charge. We unloaded our stuff into storage, Then went off for lunch. We tried the Drffryn Cafe Restaurant near Foel, It was lovely! We gave Midge another charge at Oswestry, And finally got home. Midge is on an overnight slow charge, And I checked on Mum...

Bore da bydoedd! Good morning worlds! No idea, no idea at all. We have been so into moving stuff into storage on Sundays that I have no idea what to do with this one given we haven't planned to do that. So tempting to put a few boxes of stuff into Midge and go to the storage unti anyway. But I guess we could just have a day of rest. Not sure yet. #BoreDaBydoedd #GoodMorningWorlds

Bore da bydoedd! Good morning worlds! We are going to Levenshulme Repair Cafe this morning. I am not taking my tools due to a hefty bash on the head that has made me research concussion. The physical effort to move my tools wouldn't be a good idea. So I will be an adviser for the others, and help where I can, even if it is only triage or tea making. Later I want to see if I can do something sensible with some of the crap in my workshop, and plan the next load of stuff to go to Wales. #Bore...

One of those things that happened while we were in Wales. We were following an articulated lorry that was carrying black plastic wrapped round bales. The load was strapped but with a significant lean and overhang to the right. We followed a little nervously, wondering if it was going to fall over, or spill its load. Then on a bend to the right, there was an oncoming lorry. The leaning load hit the side of the cab roof of the oncoming lorry and ripped a big bit of trim off. We had to brake hard...

Bore da bydoedd! Good morning worlds! I think we will be sorting stuff out to load into the trailer today. It depends on how rainy it is going to be. We might get to load up today, or just have it ready to load tomorrow. We'll take the trailer to the storage in Wales on Monday, as we'll be going there for house viewings anyway. #BoreDaBydoedd #GoodMorningWorlds

Bore da bydoedd! Good morning worlds! I have to pop into work to check on the contractors in a moment, then we take Mum shopping. I think I will look at repairing the conservatory roof, if it is not raining. Otherwise, I'll spend some time sorting out the next trailer load, and maybe seeing if I can figure out the process of Linuxing MiL's notebook computer. #BoreDaBydoedd #GoodMorningWorlds

Today we loaded all the tools, And went to Boothstown repair cafe. Did a few repairs, And it was a lot of fun. Did a run down to Chapel-en-le-Frith, To pick up a trailer mover. SatNav chose a convoluted cross country route to get there. We returned via the easy A6 route. Quickly finished loading the trailer, And got it all sheeted and strapped. Had dinner with Mum, Chicken curry and rice. Watched an episode of Vera, And surfed estate agent sites. Time for bed now, Long day ahead. #NosDa #NightA...

Today we had eggs for breakfast, As is tradition. Then finished off loading Scout, And set off down to Machynlleth. The promised rain didn't happen, So we unloaded in the dry. We had lunch and tea, Before setting off home again. Back to park Scout and the trailer, And to put Midge at the end of the drive. Got some new house details to examine, One that looks very promising. I have emailed the agent, And requested a viewing. Watched a couple of videos, And an episode of Vera. Now tired, So of...

Bore da bydoedd! Good morning worlds! I think we are going to load up the trailer this morning, before it rains. Hopefully, we can have another decent load to take to Machynlleth tomorrow. When it starts to rain I will do something else, I expect. #BoreDaBydoedd #GoodMorningWorlds

Bore da bydoedd! Good morning worlds! We are driving down to Leicester today for an appointment with a solicitor. Won't be back until late afternoon or early evening to do work. I have a kitchen delivery arriving at work, hopefully someone else can deal with it. See you all later. #BoreDaBydoedd #GoodMorningWorlds

@kim@fedi.social Yes, noise and light are so much easier to shut out than smells. Once the smell is there, there is little to be done to make it go away, or to 'unsmell' it. @suearcher@toot.wales @Shelly@beige.party @NatalyaD@disabled.social

Bore da bydoedd! Good morning worlds! We are taking Mum shopping this morning. Later I need to plan the logistics of moving some stuff over to Machynlleth. I am feeling tired and grouchy because next doors kids decided that it was ok to be screaming, shouting, and kicking a ball outside last night from 10:30pm to some time after midnight! I did eventually fall asleep but was woken by my half brother messaging me from Australia, pinging my phone at 1:30am! He has been muted! He is also one of t...

Bore da bydoedd! Good morning worlds! We are off to Machynlleth this morning with another trailer load. We have added a shipping container to our storage, so we can start moving the random stuff that doesn't need to be climate controlled. We'll pick up the keys for it today. As it is a Monday, we can have fish and chips for lunch. I still have work this afternoon so it will need to be a fairly quick turn around. We then have a neighbour's cat and fish to feed this week! #BoreDaBy...

Bore da bydoedd! Good morning worlds! The plan today is to start loading the trailer. It will be a huge shower tray (in case we need it for Mum in the next house), some doors I want to keep, and workshop materials. Other stuff can be packed into Scout, too. I will also look at doing an axle swap/upgrade on the trailer in the future, so I think a bit of measuring and designing might be needed. #BoreDaBydoedd #GoodMorningWorlds

Bore da bydoedd! Good morning worlds! We are running away today, for a day or normality. We are going to the Astle Park Steam Rally. I am wondering if I should take a sack barrow for autojumble purchases.... We are planning on setting up camp beside the arena and waiting for the vehicles to come to us, so food and drinks to be prepared this morning. #BoreDaBydoedd #GoodMorningWorlds

Today I checked on the cars, Scout's battery is still on charge. Took Sue to the bank, To pay in a cheque. Then went to B&Q, Recycling some fluorescent tubes. Had a talk with Mum, Not sure I am any the wiser. She did phone Taiwan though, And had a chat with her kid sister. Went to do caretaking, And had a call from my manager. "Can you spare 5 minutes for a chat?" he says, 20 minutes later he still hasn't drawn breath! I have checked my dark suit, And made sure I have a bla...
