@staff@mastodon.social Counterpoint. The live feeds are the best part of mastodon when starting out. This reads like its written by someone who is afraid to look at their email inbox because they 'have' to deal with it all and its overwhelming.
Small servers its the only way to get any decent live feel. Large ones actually start to get some variety, especially when you're new and havent found many to explicitly follow.
This is a poorly thought out decision.

@mystixa@ravenation.club Agree. The biggest issue with the local live feed is the huge amount of spam accounts. But I still use it to discover new, interesting users occasionally. To deal with spammers, maybe check new users before allowing them to post. Also, I don't see how disabling the live feed would help anyone: If people don't find it useful, they simply won't use it. @staff@mastodon.social
