🇪🇺 European Citizen's Initiative against ID age verification online Just yesterday, Stop Killing the Internet, from the people at @StopKillingGames@mastodon.social, launched an ECI against ID age verification! This is great but it needs 1 million signatures ! So, if you are a citizen of #eu , please sign it! If you don't, or even if you do, still share it around so more people know about it and can sign it! https://eci.ec.europa.eu/066/public/#/screen/home Reaching the signature threshold will not mean that ID age verification will immediately become illegal, but the subject will be brought to the @EUCommission@ec.social-network.europa.eu and they'll have to do SOMETHING about it. This is already a huge step in the right direction! :boost_requested: Please boost and share this post to spread the word! Thank you! @privacy@lemmy.world #stopkillingtheinternet #ageverification #privacy #europe

@helloyanis@furries.club @EUCommission@ec.social-network.europa.eu @StopKillingGames@mastodon.social @privacy@lemmy.world Not saying that people should not sign this petition, but in addition to what everyone is saying about it not being against age verification, I want to add a reminder that when they were protesting about "killing games", some big fishes from the videogame industry went to talk privately with some of the members of the parliament and the very next day the initiative got rejected. It is unknown what they talked in the background but we can only assume what it was 💵 Signing petitions and protesting is a waste of time and people needs to realize this, its time to move on to more active means of being heard. Just a suggestion, nothing else. RE: https://furries.club/users/helloyanis/statuses/117212986487046806
