A pretty crass image invoked by ESA's Director of Science, Prof. Carole Mundell, "we don't want to me enthombed on a planet surrounded by space debries, blinded by brifht satellites and deafened by radio interference".

@vicgrinberg@mastodon.social There's still hope that some or most of the companies planning megaconstellations or stupidly bright satellites will go bankrupt before launch. But it's a faint hope, and it leaves enough big companies like SpaceX that probably won't go under fast enough.

@vicgrinberg@mastodon.social Some rather poor speech recognition of: "we don't want to be entombed on a planet surrounded by space debris, blinded by bright satellites and deafened by radio interference".
