There’s an AI “meeting transcription and summary tool” for video meetings at my workplace that comes with a disclaimer that it should not be used if anyone does not consent.
I never consent.
Last time I said I didn’t want to use the tool in a meeting with a group of people I’m new to meeting, the meeting organizer asked “may I know why?” and I responded “Because I don’t consent,” and gave a blank stare. The organizer was visibly annoyed.
This is a pattern with all these AI tools. Non-consent is perceived as an annoyance. The people refusing to use AI are perceived as the problem, not the AI tool. Consent is an inconvenience, not a right to be respected.

@drahardja@sfba.social I met someone who told me he has become really bad at following through with jobs at home, because he just doesn't remember them. At work he has got into the habit of not making a mental note of his tasks, because he'll receive an automated email summarizing his To Do list. Expect to see the Alexa Honey-do feature with continuous in-home recording any time now.
