Alright, buckle up, it’s Saturday night, Auntie’s been at the gin, it’s story time! Back in the dark ages, before Al Gore invented the internet, when we started dating we went to the Sea Zoo. Husband paid for me to choose an oyster (each one guaranteed to have a pearl) and I picked one with twin pearls!

Alright, time for some #sewing pictures. Finished this a few weeks ago, but switched out the buttons last night after I found sparkly ones when I was tidying. Pattern is the dress version of this, in leftovers https://wardrobebyme.com/products/june-dress-sewing-pattern

I have voted to keep out the cookers from InternetNZ. Tautoko to those doing the mahi and suggesting a ranking for the clueless folks like me.

New quandary, this one is a bit more serious. I’ve been a member of Amnesty International Aotearoa for more than ten years. I’ve blocked their phone numbers and ignore their emails cause they’re a bit pushy, but it’s a cause I’ve supported for a long time. The UK arm published a report on organisations that are seeking to limit human rights, and named some TERF arsehole organisations. Of course that cunt JKR came cackling out of her dung heap and offered to pay the legal fees of anyone who w...

Had an extremely vivid dream last night. I was on a group call, trying to figure out how to join some tricky tables. Then I had leave the call because there was a tiger in the yard. The tiger was stalking Oggi, and we were very concerned because Oggi is blind and vulnerable. But it was a friendly tiger who wanted to look after Oggi, and took a shine to some of my knitted hats.

Argharghargh! The vinegar was finished, took the stopper out but the rubber bit got stuck. Both of us trying to get it out with a chopstick and tweezers, and the bottle was making weird gurgling noises. Then my life turned into an episode of the X Files and I had to ask Ecosia wtf this was while husband biffed it over the fence.

Quandary time. I’ve had this piece of silk since 2008, waiting for the right pattern/weight loss/whatever. I found a great pattern and made a mock up, but I think the silk doesn’t have enough drape for the top and now I don’t know what to make with it. #sewing https://wardrobebyme.com/products/june-dress-sewing-pattern

Dentist appointment was yesterday. Dentist: Do you grind your teeth at night? Me: I don’t know, do I? I have some hairline cracks that suggest yes, so he recommended getting a Nightguard from the pharmacy to see if I can tolerate wearing one. The mangled mess of plastic that I woke up to this morning suggests that I do indeed grind my teeth at night.

Had a super busy day today. Started with online kickboxing, made yoghurt, went into town and had a badly needed neck and shoulder massage at the mall, installed the add-on security camera I bought in November (!); made some dhokla, roasted and ground some cumin seeds, made rice pudding; dal makhini currently in the pressure cooker. ::naps::

Whenever we’re watching an action movie, and the character calls someone a motherfucker, one of us will repeat it in the high pitched way Hank did it in Californication. We both did it tonight, so I turned to him to say that we’re like a pair of dysfunctional parrots.

Making it a four day weekend, finished a dress this morning. The right angles were an accident because I hadn’t figured out the layout when I cut out, but I like it! #sewing

Have had a very pleasant Mātariki today. Opened the curtain at 6.30, but it was cloudy so went back to bed and we both slept until 9am! (we’ve had some things happening this week that are sleep disrupting, we obviously needed it). Spent all day cutting out, I’m ready to make x2 Tshirts and x3 dresses. Just made a tuna mushroom lasagne, used to make this heaps when I was a student, haven’t made it in years.
