🏅 XWiki ranked No. 2 in both CMS and task management on EU Score.tech , with an “Excellent impact” rating. We are proud of the recognition, but the bigger point is the shift behind it. More organizations are asking: Who controls our data? Which laws apply? Can we adapt the platform? What happens if a vendor changes terms? Open source gives more room to act and stay in control. 👉 https://xwiki.com #XWiki #EUScoreTech #OpenSource #DigitalSovereignty

🇫🇷 Bonne fête nationale. This year, French digital sovereignty feels much more concrete. In June, the European Commission published its European Tech Sovereignty Package, including a new EU Open Source Strategy. XWiki and CryptPad were mentioned as examples of European alternatives to Big Tech. Open source is not a magic answer. But it gives organizations more room to act, adapt, self-host, and keep control. https://xwiki.com/en/try-xwiki/ #BastilleDay #OpenSource #French #XWiki

🇪🇺 We signed the open letter calling for an Open Source First approach in Europe. The question public institutions should ask first is simple: 🤔 Is there already a qualified open-source solution that does the job? If yes, it should be seriously considered before creating new dependencies. That is how digital sovereignty becomes real. Read the letter: https://www.open-xchange.com/hubfs/PDFs/An%20Open%20Letter%20from%20Europes%20Open%20Source%20Industry%20(signed).pdf #OpenSource #DigitalSover...

“Building Open Source and living from it without selling your soul.” A dramatic title? Maybe. Ludovic Dubost’s foss-north talk is about the part of open source we don’t discuss enough: money. How do you build software people can inspect, adapt, self-host, and leave, while still paying the team behind it? Atlassian’s 2026 AI data contribution changes raise a real question for teams using Confluence: If your pages, comments, workflows, and metadata help improve vendor AI systems, are they still fully your knowledge? Legal ownership is one thing. Practical control is another. For a knowledge base, that difference matters. Looking for more control? Devoxx France 🏢 kicked off today, and the floor was busy from the start. If you’re at Devoxx and want to talk about switching from Atlassian, come by and see us at booth A06. 👋 We’ll be happy to talk through our Confluence Migration Toolkit, what migration looks like in practice, and the alternative stack to hashtag#Atlassian that we’re building together with @openproject .

From August 17, Atlassian says metadata and, depending on plan and settings, in-app data from Jira, Confluence, and Jira Service Management may be used to improve AI experiences across its products. If your knowledge lives inside someone else’s platform, who decides what it is used for next? If that conversation is starting on your side, this is a useful place to start: https://xwiki.com/en/Blog/Webinar-overview-break-free-from-Confluence/ #OpenSource #KnowledgeManagement #XWiki #OpenProject

💡 The hardest moment of a migration isn’t go-live. It’s the Monday after. When people try to work in the new system and things feel slower. Not broken. Just unfamiliar. Most of the time, it comes down to expectations. People expect the new tool to behave like the old one. It doesn’t. If you’re planning a migration from Confluence, one practical step is to look at how your current macros and use cases translate in XWiki: 👉 https://xwiki.com/en/confluence-macros-alternatives/ #Confluence #Mi...

🤖 What if following European news did not mean opening 12 tabs and guessing which source to trust? That’s the idea behind ChatEurope, led by @afpfr with 15 European media organizations. At XWiki, we built the platform behind it. The main point for us is simple: A chatbot is only as useful as the knowledge behind it. If the content is well organized, the answers are better. If it is messy, AI does not fix that. Read the success story: https://xwiki.com/en/company/references/chateurope #news...

📍 Nice to be at Nextcloud Enterprise Day in Utrecht This edition is the biggest one so far, with more than 750 registrations. That says a lot about the interest around open-source, digital sovereignty, and more control over IT environments. Good to spend time with @openproject too and talk about the joint work around an open-source alternative to the Atlassian stack. 🧩 Coming back after the weekend, one thing stands out. It didn’t look the same for everyone at XWiki. For some, it was Easter For others, Palm Sunday For some, just a quieter weekend For others, no change at all That’s what a remote, international team looks like in practice. We don’t try to standardize that. We build around it. Different calendars, same focus on open source. #opensource #celebrate #remoteWork

🧩 At XWiki, we run internal knowledge sharing sessions. In April, we talked about feedback. Jackal 🐺 vs giraffe 🦒 communication. Main takeaway: Feedback is a gift. But it takes practice to pack it properly. In a distributed team, where most communication is written, phrasing matters a lot. Sessions like this help build shared understanding and trust over time. P.S.: if this sounds like your kind of environment, we're hiring: 👇 https://xwiki.com/en/company/jobs/ #OpenSource #RemoteW...

🤝 XWiki and MassiveGRID Most wiki discussions focus on features. In practice, things usually break at the infrastructure level: latency, availability, distributed teams, operations. This partnership is about that layer. Making it easier to run XWiki globally, on infrastructure designed for high-availability environments. Less friction when scaling. More control over how your knowledge platform runs. Read more: https://xwiki.com/en/Blog/XWiki-MassiveGRID-partnership/ #news #tech #opensource

As Atlassian Data Center comes to an end, many teams are rethinking more than just which tool comes next. At @osxp_paris 2025, we hosted a joint workshop with @openproject on what really matters in this transition: continuity, control, and long-term flexibility. We also shared real migration lessons: what works, where to be careful, and how to avoid swapping one lock-in for another. 🎥 https://youtu.be/SvCAVw-XPuI #OpenSource #DigitalSovereignty #KnowledgeManagement #osxp2025

📚 Many documentation systems fail for the same reason: They were designed for the first 50 pages, not the next 50,000. As organizations grow, pages multiply, ownership becomes unclear, search degrades, and outdated information accumulates. The problem is structure! In our recent webinar “Building a knowledge base that lasts,” we explore documentation as infrastructure. 🎥 The recording, slides, and full Q&A are available here: https://xwiki.com/en/webinars/XWiki-as-a-documentation-to...

🔐 When 15,000 users and 700 spaces move, migration is no longer just technical. The European Parliament’s move from Confluence to XWiki shows what digital sovereignty looks like in practice: preserving structure, retaining control, and ensuring knowledge remains portable. In this talk, we share lessons on financing migration tooling, preserving structure, and managing change at scale.
