This week, @koolfy made the mistake to mention Ikea now had devices supporting matter. Lengthy discussions on Signal and two visits at Ikea later, I now have most of my power hungry devices plugged to @homeassistant@fosstodon.org along with CO2 sensors and temperature sensors. I'm amazed by how easy the whole thing is, years after having deal with shelly plugs and configuring them and so on.

I never shared one of her videos here I think, but I really like Alice Cappelle's take on third spaces here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D9lBGZbt2Bw. Overall, she has great content, highly recommend :)

@lord yes!

I'm so tired of this synchronisation every time I open Element. I love the idea of Matrix, but every operation is met with friction (and this is without a self hosted server - I killed that one months ago -, trying to be as vanilla as possible).

I'm super impressed with TypeWhisper. It's a small opensource app that runs local speech-to-text models. It's been fairly fast and effective in French, German and English with the Parakeet model. https://github.com/TypeWhisper/typewhisper-mac

I just stumbled upon https://joinvernissage.org/ ( @vernissage) as I was looking for an alternative Pixelfed iOS app. It’s looking pretty good, anyone tried it?
