@confusedMiddleAgedDad@mastodon.social @kibcol1049@mstdn.social I've wondered how many old 'swords in walking sticks' were bought for path-clearance rather than defence.

@lankohr@mastodon.social @kibcol1049@mstdn.social It's just maths. As the radius of your circle of knowledge increases, the border with everything you don't know increases 2π times more. You have only become more ignorant *relatively*. :-)

@inthehands@hachyderm.io That sounds like when British Conservatives said "inflation is reducing". It just means things are getting worse slower than they were.

@andybalaam@mastodon.social #OhNoHeDidnt Jack fought the AI Giant by chopping down the beanstalk and taking the ill-gotten(?) gold, thus destroying the means of production to prevent one capitalist with excessive means from potentially devaluing the gold market and creating a future shortage, from which he, his mother and a useless cow might benefit. What a #pantomime !

@dmbaturin@functional.cafe Many people make that mistake but bit-strings are really thin and bendy.

@summerbeth@mastodon.me.uk I watched a woodwork video about rubber tree wood yesterday. It is a useful hardwood that has become more common because a process was developed to control mould and rot when commercial rubber trees become unproductive and are felled. A waste product has been made useful but by using a lot of energy :-(.

What about trying, "Move slowly and DON'T break things"? I'm bored with the enshitification of both software and democracy.

Last night I discovered people don't agree what #ukulele 'Canadian tuning' was/is, despite it having been taught in Canadian schools. You'd think there would be school books that gave a definitive answer. Some think it's aDF#B but linear ADF#B seems more likely; Low-A tuning, a tone higher than Low-G tuning which is popular on tenor ukuleles. I've also learned that High-a is sometimes called "British tuning" though I don't...

@tusk81 That's what you'd expect fascists to say. The Pope should encourage Catholics to support regime change... in the US.

I think this Torygraph article has changed while I was reading it. Amol Rajan: "I’m very worried about my children growing up in England" https://share.google/Wpa9SY6iCBnP16J04. It originally claimed he'd said something about 'the culture that flows in his children's veins, which seemed like something a racist would say and I don't think he is a racist. I'm not so sure about Telegraph journalists.
