Owning My Streaming With #Navidrome Alternate title: how to spend more money by cancelling subscriptions https://willhbr.net/2026/09/28/owning-my-streaming-with-navidrome/

Anyone that's got Opinions™ on licenses for small personal projects, what're your fave licenses and why? For libraries versus applications? Any resources that you found particularly useful?

I found a projector in the garbage room of my apartment building. My apartment doesn't have any space for a projector. What should I do with this??

Navidrome server set up, I'm listening to Rival State, who aren't on streaming but since I have hoarded the mp3s from when I ripped the CD I can chuck that in my library Bangin https://youtu.be/wGvypWuI0ts?si=RYBTxEDOCgLYw45-

I'm looking into self-hosted music streaming. If you're going to AI generate your website, can you like turn the temperature up all the way or something? I know maybe this could just be tailwind overuse. I am guilty of doing everything with Bootstrap in 2011-2015 but idk think different or something

I made this transition with a CSS SVG mask then decided I didn't like it enough for my website, but I spent too long on the trigonometry to just delete it, so here you go: https://codeberg.org/willhbr/car-window-css

Since apparently it's important that your tools are added as co-authors to your commits: [templates] draft_commit_description = ''' concat( builtin_draft_commit_description, "Co-authored-by: JJ <jujutsu@jj-vcs.dev>" ) '''

I've been a bit naughty. I run wiki-rss.javanut.net which posts featured and trending articles a few times a day. It gets the typical background noise of requests to BS paths, which I was responding with a zipbomb. Now I'm responding with an HTML page with a few other BS links and some text. I've managed to ensnare a little Claude-SearchBot into making a request every minute or so to a new path 😬

Just bought tickets to a show, I had to provide name, email, phone number, home address, and date of birth, as well as making an account in venue's system. I'm sure this will be handled with care.

Honestly if something uses bold text I just assume it's AI generated. Real humans use italics.

@atpfm the South Island of New Zealand is often referred to as "the mainland" even though it's only ~30% bigger than the North Island. Also NZ is three islands (not a million) according to the national anthem.

Logged back into instagram briefly and the feed is one post from someone I follow, then two suggested posts, then an ad, then back to the start. So 3/4 is stuff I don't care about.
