Well, today’s work went well. In the morning I did an important bit of surgery to the script, the next montage I’ve swapped characters entirely, and in a different country) and rewrote a lot of script (in Vim, on the Linux machine). Then I pencil rendered two more panes of the montage, which brings me up to the end of the montage, scanned them on the fucking useless annoying HP failure of a printer, eventually, as usual, and ran out of time in the day then #TOTP

The thing I don’t get is that although Pet Shop Boys put their stuff together almost in a DIY approach, Neil must’ve known he’s got a superb singing voice and Chris must’ve known he’s a very innovative music maker, so it obviously wasn’t some slapdash post-punk experimental ethos, it was a lot more project oriented from the start I suspect #TOTP

This just sort of works, everything’s incorrect about it, it shouldn’t be a hit, but it was, and I don’t think it was entirely due to wheelbarrows full of money given to the pluggers, it just slotted in well #TOTP

I think the thing to consider with Britney’s pears is that she (or someone) puts a considerable amount of thought and effort into the performance aspect of the songs, the songs are made to be performed, the performance makes the song work, etc. So, good #TOTP
