'D’Amaro added, “He also has real enthusiasm and respect for Disney"...' Why yes, the guy that stole Disney's IP for profit totally respects Disney. I feel bad for all the tech folks working there. https://variety.com/2026/biz/news/disney-cto-karandeep-anand-character-ai-1236866528/

Weird bug happening in Apple Music. My downloaded music, and only downloaded, plays back slightly faster. It’s maybe 10%. Just enough to be noticeable.

A bit late to this party but this section in the FAQs about the Apple lease program is pretty bad: "You can use all debit cards and most major credit cards for your Klarna payments. However, some card networks, like AMEX and UnionPay — and some card issuers, like Chase and Capital One — are not accepted at Klarna." No Amex, okay that's not unusual. No chase or Capital One? That rules out a LOT of customers and forces them to connect their bank directly to Klarna... something your...

I tried the Codex security scanning tool and it found a bunch of stuff, which a non-senior-dev would think oh wow, such an impressive tool! Not a single thing it found was actually exploitable. Was all minor stuff like "legacy database dump found in git history" - the db dump in question is a test stub file 🙄 There was only one issue that might maybe be a problem, but it was already flagged with traditional tooling and already had a task to address it.

I really enjoyed Disclosure Day. I get why some people have problems with it, but I found it a refreshing take, and fairly unique - something rare these days.

The new Resident Evil overlay happening at Horror Unleashed was pretty cool. It’s clearly what they needed to draw more people here. Plus the award for finishing the game is a random discount coupon. Told they go up to 50%

@kagihq@mastodon.social I just noticed a lot of my AI reports have been tagged "Not Slop" when they're very obviously slop. I don't know how ya'll are making determinations, but it makes me not even want to bother if you're just going to mark them all at not slop. For example, I reported https://modern-css.com/dialog-light-dismiss-without-click-outside-listeners/ - obviously the content was LLM generated. Another example deeparrival.com you said is not slop, it is - th...

Flight prices are brutal right now. Twice the price for LAX-MCO compared to last year... and they wonder why tourism is down.

Saw Gea (https://geajs.com) being talked about and looked into it and some folks are acting like it's some new kind of concept. I looked at their example and it looks exactly like something we've built in house and have been using for a decade https://github.com/firstandthird/domodule Amazing how people are impressed by non-react reactivity. 🙄

Sorry if anything is slow here, we're under a mild ddos, being mitigated but I'm seeing some increased response times.

I've had this this idea of an animated logo for a long time and finally whipped up a prototype and I think it's going to stay.
