<p>Cytologist and ex-archaeologist. Good at my job, shit at my life. Will consume any media involving horror, sci-fi, fantasy, antiquity, linguistics, philosophy (especially free-will), science and psychology until it comes out of my ears.<br />I love hiking in the nature and swimming in lakes.<br />Trying to learn cybersecurity as a hobby with a side order of digital privacy.<br />My musical preference is &quot;good tunes&quot;, its type is immaterial.</p>

Random thought: I am not talented enough to do this but has anyone thought of redrafting the lyrics to Bryan Adams&#39; hit &quot;Summer of 69&quot; where the subject is the &quot;Year of the Four Emperors&quot; in Ancient Rome? #Classics #RomanEmpire #BryanAdams #AncientHistory

@joeress@mastodon.social #xfce is going to make you very sad today, I’m afraid.

Watching the new “Cape Fear” and one of the characters warns that he’s only got 5% battery on an old Nokia brick phone. Dude, that’s probably a day’s worth of charge!

@TwoClownsEating@beige.party @MrAndrewD@aus.social I watched “Hot Fuzz” with my elderly mum when I flew over to the UK a week ago. This reminded me because one of the Andies tells Sgt Angel, “If you want to be a big cop in a small town, go to the modal village”. She doesn’t get all of the cultural references but she’s always fancied Timothy Dalton (who doesn’t).

@TwoClownsEating@beige.party As no one else seems to have deigned to sink this low I have to say this sounds like the wurst festival of the year.

@TwoClownsEating@beige.party I appreciate their low cunning though. 😀

I’m going to demand a refund from my university where I studied Classics. They told me “The Odyssey” was a mythical epic that constantly evolved as it passed down via oral tradition over centuries. Now I learn someone’s going to make an “historically accurate” version. I’m fuming!

Two Epstein “Scouts” dead within days of each other. Fancy that. 🤔

@TwoClownsEating@beige.party I also like how small the word “tributes” is just above the legendary bands on the bottom half of the poster.

@TwoClownsEating@beige.party Had to check if you were joking… but no. The Horror. If it was just sausages and cider I’d probably go though.

Hello all. I do not want to trigger some kind of flame-war but I am just interested in peoples&amp;#39; thoughts. Not that this post will have much reach but I just wondered how many of you out there believe in &amp;quot;Free Will&amp;quot;? I myself do not but seem to be in a stark minority. All my discussions on the subject have been amicable but I&amp;#39;d love to hear more voices.

For people like me, who do not code or run an OSS project, the reasons for AI-contributions being unwelcome are well elucidated &amp;amp; argued by the people at @servo. Well written for the layperson &amp;amp; worth a quick read. https://book.servo.org/contributing/getting-started.html#ai-contributions
