I didn't do any visits with any of the wolves, but I did go in with the gray foxes and got some good pictures. These guys are usually shy but they do come out sometimes. They have retractable claws, and love to climb. They have lots of wooden beams and ladders to scamper around on. They are sort of cat-like. #fox #GrayFox

I don't have any recent wolf or fox pics as of late, but since it's so hot here are some from back in December. #wolf #wolves #ArcticWolves

@chrisleboe@mstdn.ca Amazing shot, they looks like they're having a casual conversation while both are mid-air.

I'm trying to remember when the last time I flew anywhere was. I think it may have been 2018 or 2019. Actually, I'm trying to remember the last time I flew any place that wasn't for work. I remember flying out for an interview for something, which I guess counts as for work.

Here's a video of some of the wolves from the weekend. (Sorry for the short vid, but I cut it off to avoid some other humans in the original.) #wolf #wolves #TimberWolves

I've got a semi-permanent #Meshtastic node setup, the antenna is just hung from a hook on my porch. It's run from a little USB supply connected to a 12-volt 12 Ah LiFePO4 battery, which is charged by a 10-watt solar panel. No charge controller. The panel is just sitting on my porch and gets on for about half the day. It's very simple, and actually probably overkill for this node for the most part, but it's kept it up for more than 25 days. #solar #SmallSolar

I'm typing this on an old Lenovo X131e laptop, which I got to have a smaller laptop. It runs normal Ubuntu, and has 8 GB of RAM. I don't use it for much, basically FireFox and Thunderbird, playing music, and occasionally something a little more advanced. I have opened KiCad on it before, and I use Octave occasionally. Most of the time, it's a little sluggish but it handles this fine. It's mainly my Fediposting/Podcast listening machine.

I've been power my washing machine from my little off-grid PV system for a while now. It's consumed 2.46 kWh, or about $0.12 USD at my electric rates.

I'm going to do a sweep on a bunch of projects I have, and try to get a big parts list order together for Digikey. I'm not sure what's going to happen with supply chains, but there were some things I was eyeing back during the pandemic which weren't available for a year or so.

In theory, if we start seeing age verification stuff in FOSS, someone will be able to hack around it. As in, fork the project, remove that, and redistribute the source. Or just download the source and spend a weekend removing that. Or something. I worry about what happens if/when lawmakers or lobbyists think of this, and attention turns to what this 'free software' thing really means.
