As ever I'm late to the party. I'd never heard of Living Hour before, but discovering new bands is why I always catch the openers at shows. Here I was thinking "what a cool new band" only to find they've been around for 10 years and put out 5 albums. In any case they were great, and the crowd was respectful which was also great. /////// #livemusic #music #livinghour #slowcore #shoegaze #winnipeg #manitoba #canada

It's been 10 years since I attempted to record the "Forest Grove Sound". While I was unsuccessful it was a fun adventure. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forest_Grove_Sound ////// #fieldrecording #weird

Mostly as a joke I played on myself I gave the first 311 album a go to acknowledge 3/11. Overall my low opinion of them didn't change, but I'm always happy to push back against my prejudices. I will say I was not AT ALL expecting this song to feature a verse about the Exxon Valdez disaster. (I don't think it's a good song, but I was quite surprised). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G7jaOzhTsdc ////// #music #genx #311 #lol

There's a lot to be said about how amazingly fucked it is to have to share someone's health emergency gofundme, but here I am doing exactly that for a wonderful person, David of the band The Prids. They've been around since the 90s making cool guitar rock and have had no shortage of stuff along the way. And I hope they're able to continue on after this. Anyway: https://gofund.me/8f9ccfb52 If you can't donate maybe listen to their music. ////// #theprids...

Took some of the early steps of organizing where I work including a chat with a union rep at the end of the day. Felt really good.

Saturday reflections on how many times I've seen this over the years on my rides to work. ("This" referring to drivers going over the island and taking out the sign.) Bad road design or bad drivers? Two of these are from the last 7 days. ////// #biketooter #portland #pdx #traffic
