I wonder if Candace Owens is just going to fess up to being gay. She's capturing what's left of the right-wing media (obsoleted because another lesbian, Bari Weiss, turned the MSM into the right-wing media) and I suspect it's because she captured young people who got into conspiracy thinking during the pandemic and might not have a self-image as being right-wingers. 1/2

@ianthomasmalone she's sacrificing it so it can be buried with him, like a faithful servant.

I’m like The Count on Sesame Street (looks evil but just autistic and trying to be helpful by giving unnecessarily granular information).

I couldn't find this story by searching "boy" or "kid" and maybe that's because the media likes to adultify black minor victims of police brutality. There was one article that echoed speculation on the part of law enforcement that this was suicide-by-cop in the headline. This person being an unarmed minor is the bigger story than that he allegedly pretended to draw his water bottle. https://cbsaustin.com/news/local/police-17-year-old-had-water-bottle-not-gun-in-fatal...

Positive: I got Windows 98 with ICQ and Winamp running in a VM, with ICQ connecting to Open Oscar. Negative: As part of this, I restored my old ICQ db and now I'm depressed because I hate teenage me so much.

@geekysteven@beige.party "In the future, people won't care if something was made by AI" Sure. They won't hate it just because it was made with AI. They also won't like it just because it was made with AI.

@emmatyping oh great, now we're going to have to know this stuff when manually lexically sorting records with emoji in their titles.

Netto-uyo (Japanese equivalent of alt-right) spread rumors that the man who probably murdered his 11 year old stepson in Kyoto prefecture was Chinese. It wouldn't mean anything about Chinese immigrants even if that were true because he's an individual human but it was bullshit anyway - he's Japanese. This shit is happening everywhere. Confirmation bias and just making shit up to justify hate.

Car culture meets murderous transphobia. Trans woman who has experienced a rise in hostility compared to the 90s a victim of a gyaku-gire road rage incident from a Mercedes driver mad that she was mad that he blocked the sidewalk. As a cherry on top, the DA statement misgendered her. https://www.them.us/story/dannielle-spillman-san-francisco-trans-woman-run-over-killed

I'm non-binary and also a nerd who likes explaining things, so if you're any kind of trans person who has non-cisnormative transition goals or a cis person who wants to modify their body in ways that overlap, or you're just curious, AMA

lgbt domains are expensive. So I'm going to get rid of these: genderqueer.lgbt genderfluid.lgbt If anyone on the fediverse who seems reputable to me, I'll sell it at huge discount or even free, depending on what you will doing with it. The only catch is your registrar will probably charge you a lot to renew it. I'm trying to save up money for laser hair removal and part of that is cutting needless expenses like this.

One of the first of Epstein's victims to come forward was a trans woman and they made it about her transness instead of the heinous crime itself (htt @imgwendy@threads.net).

That’s terrible that ICE is at some US airports. I’m hoping we don’t encounter any. But it was already terrible that the TSA is in all the airports. Both of these are products of the post-9/11 authoritarian creep. We could live without them as we once did.

I went to NAMM and the subsequent Friends of Buchla event last week/weekend and one thing that I think does deserve more representation there is open source tools. It would be nice if there was one booth, even a small one, that just represented the whole ecosystem. Music students and educators attend at a great discount or paid for by an institution. They're not programmers who necessarily know what's out there.
