I can’t afford to travel in Canada. Accommodation is far too expensive. I figure it is because people come to visit from countries where people have higher incomes, so they can afford to pay more for their vacations. Even the cost of a campground is outlandish.

Is product #recall a thing in the #US ? Does #contaminated #food get recalled? The list of recalls in #canada are disgustingly phenomenal. Disgusting because it seems like contamination discovery shouldn’t be the job of consumers.🤢 But at least they get recalled. Do you know the state of enforcement of quality control for food production and sales in your country?

RE: https://mstdn.ca/@theteapixie/116920172768420376 Take a look at the results below. Small sample, but serious skew. “Trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole (TMP-SMX)(sold as Bactrim,* Septra,* or Cotrim*) is the treatment of choice for cyclosporiasis.” Not treated? Can hang around for a month or more. I had salmonella from a flight to England on the way to Kenya (thanks for nothing Air Canada). It brutalized me. Talk to your doctor!

Alright, Kids. Propagation of tomato plants. I have started about 10 plants this way, as a start. Pinch sucker branches (the ones that grow between the main stem and a branch, in the centre of the V). Put the brwnches in water for wbout a week. There should be roots by the end of the week. Place the plants in pots for a week. Plant out. Remember that lettuce is made of water, so needs much watering. Also, practice cut and come again harvesting. I was getting salads for a month and a half off...

If your kids need RELIABLE world news, get them looking on source apps. Associated Press (AP), Reuters, Aljazeera, Euro News, BBC, CBC, for example. It’s important to look at a multitude of reliable sources for story coverage. Be judicious about the sources you choose. Developing media literacy is extremely important to their personal development.

Dear #canadians HAPPY 🇨🇦 DAY! Let’s celebrate how unbelievably lucky we are to live here and for those of us born here? We are not special, we just have luck as a result of decisions made by others.

Guessing this is #aislop Are businesses responsible when their products don’t live up to the “claims”? I am looking for a raised planter for my deck. This one is made of metal. I was curious to know how much weight the planter could manage. I can guarantee it can’t hold the stated weights.

#WordWeavers 2026.02.30 — Do you write scenes out of order? It’s a technique I adopted in Uni. Write the end first. It means I know exactly where I am headed. It can be altered, if/when/where necessary. Then I write the beginning, dropping hints throughout. I drop little items throughout the story that relate to the ending so that, when someone finishes the book, they want to read it again to find all the clues. This is a great technique for kids. Helps them build a story without getting los...
