Great news yesterday, it looks like we'll soon be getting our second foster dog! Either another labrador or a golden retriever, but we won't find out for a week and a bit. Here's a pic of our first, Kath, now a fully qualified guide dog and living the dream in a much better garden at her forever home π₯Ή If the new dog is half as loving and funny as Kath, we'll count ourselves lucky! #Dogs #DogsOfMastodon #FosterDog

One of the projects from the mixed up pile of floss last #WIPWednesday is officially back in action for this one. This is Beachfront Home by @infinitybear and I've been working on it on and off for what seems like years at this point, every time I pick it up I remember how much bigger than expected it is! Today saw some progress on the sky, while binge watching driving mock test videos π Determined to get this one done. It is officially on the #FinishOrFrogAlong list and that'...

Happy news today is that I've just done my longest ever drive (three and a half hours straight, that's a lot for a learner!) and now we're in Scotland π The slightly more annoying news is that we're only away for two nights and I've somehow had to bring three different bras. Three! What even is that π #LearnerDriver

I've been wanting to try and needle felt a highland cow for ages but this visit to friends in Aberdeen was the perfect opportunity. I knew they'd appreciate a handmade gift even if it turned out slightly wonky, which it definitely did. But it's also very cute, and I had a lot of fun making it! Maybe I'll grab some better photos before we leave but also maybe I'll forget so this one might have to do. Another tick for the #FinishOrFrogAlong list! #Needle...

That thing where you have a fun weekend away in a fun place with fun friends and you tell yourself you'll just be normal this time and not be exhausted for the whole week after but it turns out it doesn't work like that π©

We're up in #Aberdeen visiting friends, so obviously had to do the new-to-us #parkrun. It's so nice having the half hour later Scottish start, we even had time for breakfast today! It was forecast to rain quite heavily at one point but came out nice in the end, the route is sort of an out and back (out along this top path, back along the beach promenade) and I imagine could be quite grim in windy weather but it was lovely today. Lots of tourists, but we were all beaten by someone from...

Emerged from resentful summer hibernation for a new-to-me #parkrun, Northallerton, which at first seemed like it might be quite uninspiring from the course description. But as per usual the volunteers made it (shoutout to the marshal with the bell!), and somehow I ended up running in an impromptu gang of three and having a very nice time. Sadly missed out on the geocache on the nearby bridge, but it's ok since we also forgot to take any photos so need to revisit this one anyway. Ins...

This has definitely been my most unproductive summer basically ever, both in terms of crafting and also just generally real life. But you can tell autumn is on the way, because in the last two days I've started planning a needle felting project and also feeling the urge to make some oldschool friendship bracelets out of embroidery floss. Now I just need to get up off the couch and actually do it!

This week was Redcar parkrun's 666th event, so they asked people to dress accordingly. Cue a sea of red, and even the one guy who tours parkruns dressed as a dolphin had got the memo and somehow attached a pair of horns. We're running the Middlesbrough 10k tomorrow so I took it truly easy today and ended up slow jogging in the "party bus" behind these guys in suits who were playing a themed music playlist the whole way round. Nice friendly banter, a bit of grou...

I have no idea why Past Michelle thought signing up to a 10k race was a good idea, but here we are. Sometimes I disappear from socials for a while and it's normally because I'm just distracted or sad or stressed or too hot or something. But if you don't hear an update by tonight in this case I've probably died. Please avenge me in whichever way seems appropriate to you. Survival is the goal, anything under 1hr20 will be a miracle. Let's go! #Running #M...

As promised, my newly arrived #postcard. It's #cheese. Cheese, Gromit! The sender decorated it with cool stamps and washi tape covering some of the interests on my profile, jigsaws and rollercoasters and crafts etc, and her message was lovely too. Is it weird to think you and your #Postcrossing match would be friends irl? Cos we have cheese and knitting in common and tbh what more does a beautiful friendship need? π I appreciate all the cards I've had so far, but it does feel extr...

Went on holiday for one week, so naturally it's taken one week after that to recover physically and then another week to recover mentally. Standard. I used the time to complete the increases for this yoke, which as recently discussed means the project is now "basically done". Yep. Totally π #Knitting #HobbiiTidepool

Three weeks since our last #parkrun (and my last run of any kind), we headed back to Albert Park in #Middlesbrough, which was our first ever course and also where we both have our PBs. No way was that kind of time happening today though, it's sunny and humid and I could barely make it a quarter mile at a time before stopping for a walk! Still. Survived. And even survived driving us back home, despite a very sketchy junction where I got beeped at for being too slow. The perils of being...

The only positive thing I can say about dragging myself to #parkrun this morning is that at least it was 9 degrees cooler than it is now π₯΅ Oh and also that the vibes at #Redcar were immaculate, but tbh they always are. #Running in the heat is really not for me! Unfortunately we've signed up to a 10k in August though so I better get used to it fast π Respect to everyone who managed it this morning.

Since we're travelling Down South today, we figured it was a good chance to try a new #parkrun venue on the way. Lucky for us Pontefract parkrun was right near the motorway, plus a new letter for us and of course our first step towards the Full Ponty challenge! It mostly follows the loop of the racecourse but starts and ends around a lake which, today at least, featured adorable baby geese. And then to top it all off, there was an ice cream truck at the finish line! #Running #Ponte...

Last week, @theresmiling was a terrible influence on me (a total stranger) by daring to mention a fun app that has you upload photos of post-related things onto a map. So naturally a week later I've recruited all friends to send me photos of their local postboxes so I can upload them and take the credit. It's called #pixPost, if any of you nerds also fancy it. But feel free to send me a pic of your local box or post office if not π #philately #postbox

It's after 3pm and I've only just realised it's not Tuesday. Which says a lot about how this week is going so far! Basically no time for crafts the last few days, so instead here's a pic of the latch hook kit that I started a fortnight ago. It's much further on now, but I forgot to post this at the time and the colours make me happy so deal with it π #WIPWednesday #LatchHook #FiberArts

Stewart #parkrun this week for pacer week, although we both lost our pacers in the madness of the starting crush so that turned out to be pretty irrelevant! I've said this before, but it's a great park. All kinds of weird nooks and crannies and something new to see round every corner. Unfortunately one of those things is quite a long hill, which makes this a much slower event than some of our other locals. Still, I think this will turn out to be my new best time at Stewart, so...
