@cjk Maybe you want to have a look at the guidelines for app descriptions https://docs.flathub.org/docs/for-app-authors/metainfo-guidelines/quality-guidelines#not-technical

July is #DisabilityPrideMonth Wait, disability ... pride? Why would someone be proud to be disabled? One of the most important aspects of disability pride for me is to counter the shame. The shame of “being different,” the shame of “needing help,” the shame of “being a burden,” the shame from the humiliation and abuse I have experienced. Disability pride gives me the chance to counter the shame by saying, “I am disabled, and I am proud to exist and be who I am.” #JulyIsDisabilityPrideMonth

I recently found that iOS allows adding a ☀️ icon to the control center. It's called "Reduce White Point" which is a bit technical. What it actually does is make the screen darker than the brightness setting allows. When I have a migraine attack, I sometimes still can and want to use a screen. But even the lowest brightness setting can be too much. So it would be great to see a feature like this in GNOME! #AccessibilityInFreeSoftware

Some people say they don't understand disability pride, so let's check some of the dictionary entries for "pride": - reasonable self-esteem : confidence and satisfaction in oneself - respect and appreciation for oneself and others as members of a group and especially a marginalized group : solidarity with a group based on a shared identity, history, and experience (Merriam-Webster) And that's what I wish every disabled person. It is #DisabilityPrideMonth! I used this occasion to write a bit about accessibility in GNOME, ableism, and share some ideas about what we can use this pride month for. I'm looking forward to learning about the perspectives of other disabled people #AccessibilityInFreeSoftware https://blogs.gnome.org/sophieh/2026/07/07/accessibility-in-gnome/

Stock buybacks are just dividends in disguise and hence a tax evasion scheme. Sure, you would have to pay taxes when selling the stock eventually. But the ultra-rich are just not selling and instead use stocks as collateral for massive loans. We have to tax wealth. https://www.nasdaq.com/articles/nvidia-approves-50-billion-stock-buyback-time-buy

It's not only Trans Day of Visibility 🏳️‍⚧️ but also World Backup Day! Therefore, Pika Backup 0.8 is available as of today. So, condemning everyone who uses AI is the new purity test for some bubbles now. And it this binary approach makes me sad and scared. I have seen so many of these rules to define in-groups. You are eating animal products? How can you, killing the climate. You are not using the exact expected set of content warnings? How can you be so ignorant. You are shaving your legs as a woman? How antifeminist of you. You are using a car? How can you justify all the bad impact of this.
