Bit of a blustery & dreary day didn't stop a visit to Cornwall Park to enjoy the cherry blossoms. 🌸 #flower #cherryBlossom #cherry #somethingBeautiful #TamakiMakaurau #Auckland

Lucky me, I got the upstairs front window seat on this morning's bus ride. Whau River mouth looking beautiful, and even the motorway looks pretty with the golden dawn light. #river #WhauRiver #publicTransport #Auckland #TamakiMakaurau #bus #somethingBeautiful #aucklandscenes

It's been a while since I had a window seat & it has been light enough to take photos: Whau River mouth at around dawn, with the tide in & boats moored. The water is calm, the sky is mostly clear with a few clouds, and the light has gone golden on the horizon. #river #WhauRiver #publicTransport #Auckland #TamakiMakaurau #bus #somethingBeautiful #aucklandscenes

This morning's sunrise sky over Auckland's CBD is a painting, as seen from the bus window. "There's a sunrise and a sunset every single day, and they're absolutely free. Don't miss so many of them." --- Jo Walton. #publicTransport #Auckland #TamakiMakaurau #bus #somethingBeautiful #aucklandscenes

"British gender activist Posie Parker has left New Zealand, calling it the 'worst place for women she has ever visited'." The same NZ where women won the right to vote in 1893, where the women's team won the rugby world cup last year? What an unhinged individual Parker is. https://www.rnz.co.nz/news/national/486733/posie-parker-departs-new-zealand-jk-rowling-blasts-protest-as-repellent

Something a bit different this morning. A boat was heading into the harbour from Whau River mouth leaving a V-shaped wake behind. Also, I'm so glad I learnt the putting phone against window trick to avoid reflections, which I wasn't able to do to get a photo of the sunrise over Auckland CBD. #publicTransport #Auckland #TamakiMakaurau #bus #somethingBeautiful #aucklandscenes

On this day in 2020, New Zealand went into COVID Alert Level 4 a.k.a. lockdown. We did really well as a country, saved thousands of lives. Six years later, COVID is part of our landscape; we're in our 9th wave of COVID. https://nzhistory.govt.nz/new-zealand-enters-nationwide-lockdown-fight-against-covid-19 Uh, happy anniversary?
