When I do a web search with exactly two terms, the top search result should NOT EXCLUDE ONE OF THOSE TERMS!!!

This is a message to me: RTFM. No, really, RTFM. Seriously, RTFM.

20+ years of software experience, and I still get delusions of grandeur about what I'm capable of and how long it will take.

Momentary confusion when pacman updates pulled the "libplacebo" library. And follow-up thought: did placebos use to be more effective before people knew what the term meant?

@thelinuxcast Matt, what did you see that was lacking with workspaces in bspwm? A couple of tricks I use for managing them is using "%name% [%nwin%]" to display the number of windows for the workspace in polybar, which is usually enough, or rofi to switch directly to an application if toggling through them is not enough. Just curious.

@thelinuxcast But what specifically? Is it tags? Workspaces per monitor? Trying to figure out if it's a personal preference or some feature I missed in those other two. Do you discuss bspwm workspace shortcomings in one of your videos?

@thelinuxcast Oh, I see. Basically the opposite of what I want, because with my setup, if I put it on a side/non-main monitor I typically want it to stay there. Thanks!

I don't know who's responsible at #bluez, but I greatly appreciate the recent changes that let my wireless earbuds automatically connect with the audio profile enabled. It was so annoying to have to disconnect and reconnect from the manager every time I put them on.

I _knew_ I was in for trouble when I had 186 updated python packages.

@TechConnectify It's a cascading cycle of cynicism. I watched Mr. Smith Goes to Washington for the first time last week. It's a good movie to foster the virtue of hope.

Change is the only way to make things better, but there are far more ways to make things worse. If you don't change, things are probably going to get worse on their own, though it might take longer.

I love #bspwm, and I have very few complaints. However, it does make me a bit nervous that it hasn't had any updates in nearly a year.

Streaming video hasn't worked for me in #Archlinux for a couple of weeks now. First noticed it with all #Jellyfin videos, but there's an issue with some live Youtube videos also. I suspect it has something to do with #ffmpeg 7.0, but I can't figure out why I'm not able to roll back that package. I keep hoping it'll be fixed in an update or that someone who understands what's going on better than me will report the issue.

I got #awesomewm configured and running. I imagine its something I'll continue to play with. It's more flexible, but kind of a pain to configure. Considering this is a do-it-yourself to get the best results, I'm rather disappointed at the level of documentation. It's still fairly low-level, which puts this out-of-reach for n00bs. I could see someone developing a framework with config files to make this more accessible to a more casual audience.

The overuse of the crutch word "look" at the beginning of sentences is really starting to get on my nerves.

There's something insidious about advertising if you're hell-bent on forcing me to to watch despite my explicit attempts to reject it. That mental manipulation is precisely what I'm trying to avoid.

TVLand airing Gunsmoke episodes at 1.5x speed is wild.

I'm increasingly annoyed at all these "solutions" to git "problems" that are simply people not understanding how git works.
