My tablet stand was pretty sleepy, I think. ...ENHANCE! #Cats

Have made a tiny weird pincushion! Or mostly at least, am going to attempt to put some beads on it because I have a lot of them. It's just some quilt leftover pieces, one side backed with a coutil scrap to keep needles from poking through, and the other with scrap linen to make the flimsy cotton less flimsy. The stitch I used was... fine but not optimal. 😅 I'd do it different next time, it's so bulky! Ah. #Sewing #HandSewing

Would you like to see a twenty year old photo with about three pixels of me as a youth? Great, here you go! I already knew what I liked, so this was for an end of school formal dance gala where I danced the man's part with a cute goth girl. I'd borrowed the top hat and cane, and got the shoes and trousers second hand if I recall, but made the coat and cravat myself! Even today I sometimes think that I should remake the coat.

Choose a pair of whimsical socks to wear! 🧦 You may choose TWO options if you wear a mismatched one sock per foot. (These socks do not exist, to my knowledge, I cannot provide a link!)

And now: Cat photos that I didn't upload yesterday. 🐈️ Starting with the mystery of: "What is under the blanket?" Oh, it's Karvinen using blanket technology! #Cats

Grand news for fans of the Visiting Sir, Rudolf! I've been a bit poorly and stuck in books and thus not posting as much, but shall be attempting multitudinous pictures of Fourth Cat as he comes over to stay for a couple of days. I'm hoping the sirs all get along roughly as well as they have, or better... But we'll see! In any case, have tired myself out with vacuuming all of Rudolf's usual napping and skulking locations, and now need to sit the fuck down. 😅 #VisitingSir

I succumbed to books again and have had a number of sirs napping on me or just very close as I've read. Third boy not pictured, but he's napped on me also. #Cats

@quixoticgeek@social.v.st Re-replied for sharing purposes, on the topic of which is the least worse fibre: Don't forget that linen/flax takes a lot less water to grow and even wash! You don't really need to irrigate linen, and while it's on the field it's also a field of flowers so nice for pollinators... And once it's a garment - production will always be resource intensive when industrially produced - it will also need a lot less washing than cotton, since it gets stinky so...

Anybody else remember Kutar's Tabipero? It's been years and years since I last played it, but even now, sometimes, my brain just starts playing The Horn Song while I'm trying to do something that consists of long and short... Here's a random clip from 16 years ago from someone else, if you need it in your brain for any reason: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NOKDXlnUxt0 #VideoGames

CW eye contact, nothing but eye contact, this is a photo of Karvinen staring into your very soul and almost nothing but the stare! I was mostly trying to document the little freckle he has in one eye as he was gazing at me, and almost got it into focus before I was furiously cuddled by him so this is the best I got... Edit: Forgive me, I have touched the colours to negate the upload compression! #Cats

It's one in the morning and I'm thinking about how you're supposed to give ducks peas instead of bread... And do ducks even normally encounter peas, or are they confused and delighted about these round floating things of food suddenly bobbing in their pond or lake? Does a duck know peas grow on pea vines?

In mother's garden, the berries are coming along nicely. White currants, wild strawberries, garden blueberries and gooseberries. The birds are going to have a feast later in the year! #BloomScrolling #Gardening

Ah heck, the nightdress, 'twas borked! The bit under the arm tore quite a bit, so I slapped on a patch of random linen scrap with the edges turned under, whipstitched it on, and applied the bare minimum of quick embroidery to stop the torn bit underneath from wiggling so much. #Mending #VisibleMending #HandSewing

Saw some good bombels on this random plant I don't recognise. They're the colouring of what I consider the usual bumblebees, but also were about half the size I'd expect! Might look up the species in a little bit. #Bees #BumbleBees

A poll! When is the last time you had a cold, the flu, or some other vaguely normal malady? Just read a post about someone's vacation and event being ruined by a cold, and thought to myself: "Yeah I can't remember the last time... Maybe 2022? 2024?"

Have you ever washed a rug in the river or a lake? Wondering how common it is outside of Finland, where it's quite traditional to go to the river and properly scrub a rug with a big brush on a special pier for it, and then let it dry in the summer sun...
