Alright folks, I'm starting a newsletter for all my #IrishMythology and #CelticMythology work. If you're into #Celtic and/or #Mythology, or #Paganism / #Heathenry then you may be interested to sign up: https://buttondown.com/godsandcroziers I'm using comparative methods to reveal the true identities of the Celtic-Christian Saints. I've discovered that nearly all of them are simply Celtic gods re-branded. It's new ground, there's a lot to learn and apply elsewhere. Sign...

@GigaByte4711@whitespashe.uk @rra@post.lurk.org People often point out, correctly, that the whole monochrome-dithering thing is really just an aesthetic. Using normal JPEG compression or scaleable formats for repeating designs, like SVGs, one can still achieve tiny sites with full colour visuals. Something about the posterised/dithered aesthetic does grab the attention though, so maybe they're doing it for that reason :)

Traditionally in Mí na #Bealtaine one should eat nettles at least a few times. I've been waiting for today to try a new food-crime: Nettle Tofu. I've make nettle leafu before, and it was interesting but had two problems: too little of it, and too much flavour. I'm hoping that by making a combined curd of soy and nettle, I can achieve a happy balance of volume and flavour. #Beltane

OK, new account set up over on Pagan.plus for TGaTC. I know my Hackers Townies are very forbearing, but I do feel like I've been flooding the local timeline with stuff that's well outside the server "aesthetic" for a while now. :) And, I'd like to spam a little more on my topic of especial interest - so, giving it its own account might let me do that without worrying too much about whether I'm subjecting un-warned people to mythological white-n...

Gotta say it's always wild to see UKians saying things like "King Charles should do Xyz when he meets Trump" as if they think a hereditary king in 2026 isn't equally farcical to cheeto jesus. You want your billionaire despot you didn't vote for to give what-for to the other billionaire despot people actually did vote for?

Got tomorrow's issue of TGaTC scheduled at last - it'll be my first issue on a #Welsh saint, Brychan. Looking forward to talking about it tomorrow. :)

Someone saying "if you think rights can be withdrawn from trans peopl, you're on a slippery slope to no rights for anyone" Yes, yes that is 100% true But days ago you were advocating guillotines for your own outgroup

Today's issue of The Gods and Their Croziers concerns Brychan - the first #Welsh saint so far. Brychan is clearly a sort of "allfather" deity, but that doesn't situate him at the level of Óðinn or An Dagda; instead, he shows every sign of being the Creator-Deity. Today's issue goes over the evidence for this: that Brychan is father to a medly of god-named "Saints", and one myth in particular that aligns him with Tadhg, grandfather of...

The issue for St. Crónán, aka Dian Cecht, was gonna be all apologetic and "there's not much to go on besides this one thing and vibes", and then late last night I found _another thing_ That's *two* things and vibes! Two!

Ugh, just realised the modding scenes for all my favourite games are gonna be absolutely demolished by slop by the time I get back to playing them.. We really do need a whole new Free Software Movement that supports authentic creativity.

Today's issue of TGaTC is late on account of being too big. Work is ongoing to streamline what's become a messy, complicated issue: Saint Patrick as a Cosmic God. :GalaxyBlobAwe:

Christian bloggers when talking about Irish saints are always like "and wow, he did this amazing miracle where he revived a man from the dead" My dude in christ I cannot remember a single Irish Saint who didn't raise at least one person from the dead, it's just so passé Look for the guy who does something like Miracle-ing wolves to bring him a king's penis
