Received some #PostCardSwap mail the other day. I have been meaning to get back to sending random cards out to family and friends and this might kickstart me in that again. (I sent a few during height of pandemic days)

Ordered a wrist watch from germany, received a battered and empty package. Contacted seller (who is actually the manufacturer) to ask what the claim process is. And now I wait, because timezones. #FirstWorldProblems

Remember when they experimented with audio simulcast of TV shows on an FM radio station? Back in the days of CRT and single mono speakers. I distinctly remember a Calgary TV and FM station duo doing this for the tv-movie premier thing of Miami Vice. #80s #1980s

I can't believe I'm cheering for a rocket explosion or crash. I used to be in awe of rockets and space programs but this billionaire fever dream version needs to go out with a bang. Maybe it could crater into the production facility. That'd be swell. RE: flipboard.com/users/Spacecom/statuses/uqOOTanZQHe-8X_AdQQaMw:a:1693190246

Nah, gave up and left it sitting like that. Probably should pack that up to take to the dump. (except for the serial terminal, that's still useful from time to time)

The 'merkin system of government is chock full of oddities. A senator dies, and the governor appoints the senator's sister to serve out his term in office. WTF I can't even.

I should stop trying to massage a technically flawed image in post, and just go reshoot the subject with my real camera. (Excessive lens flare etc from shooting sunward with an iPhone)

Downloading some stuff to watch later, and they happen to be originally PAL (vs NTSC). The episode file names are amusing with PAL suffixes. "Dawn of the Gods, PAL" "Rumors of Death, PAL" etc

Cleaning my closet out of stuff that does not fit it is worn out. Two big bags for donation so far, and one for the bin. Guessing there’ll be one or two more bags for donation when I get through the rest. Seems like I just did this task not too long ago but in reality it was probably 5-8 years ago.

Why do old people have their thermostats set so high? Are they preparing for hell? It is summer and a nice 15C overcast sporadic rain day. Inside is 🥵

First mow of the season completed. Some really dormant bits of grass under/near the evergreens as they really suck the water away from the grass. Sprinklers running for the first time, no busted heads or valves this time, yay. Dogs are out in the yard, and will be getting wet. Hope they stay out of the flower beds. (muddy paws in 3, 2, 1 ....)

I love how about every 6-9 months my desktop's time machine drive fills up and doesn't want to clean up after itself. Manual intervention is required and I have not had great luck with 'tmutil delete' reliably freeing up space. Erase and start from scratch works though. #sysadmin #macos
