    @pqqq@eldritch.cafe there&#39;s at least one company (with a good reputation) that does fully integrated hosting and management (version upgrades, resolving issues, etc) except for moderation (which is not an issue for a single org on an instance). look for &quot;mastodon hosting&quot;. small instance should be a minimal cost. use a subdomain of the org&#39;s existing domain. two cents.

    Remembering an old CompSci concept*... generators vs sieves. For example, we don&amp;#39;t have good prime number generators... but we have a fairly good sieve that filters numbers quickly for likely being a prime. otoh we do have fairly good pseudo-random number generators (digital computers are designed to not have noise so it takes a little bit of work to introduce noise).
