Looking for photos of me sitting next to other people whose height I'd know, and I figure googling conferences will net results. I end up finding this. Not what I'm looking for, but I start cackling anyway because... yeah... no cap, sorry.

Day two in a row of picking up parcels with pollita. Hiked out to the big Fedex warehouse at LIS airport. 15min walk from the Airport metro in the hot sun (somehow still more walkable than many American neighborhoods). Managed the interaction flawless again, and wound up.... with a 28kg (62lb) box (3D printer kit). This is barely more than half the weight I dropped OFF MY ENTIRE BODY last year. So surely I can carry it? (Don't call me Shirley.) 🧵 1/3

RE: https://infosec.exchange/@briankrebs/116959137948884825 Hahahahahahahahahaahahahahahah Oh fucking Christ on a weaponized incompetence pogo stick. I don't know how much private/insider info there is to mine, but OF COURSE the crook-in-chief is fucking user data with his micropeen. THIS WAS OBVIOUS AND WAS ALWAYS GOING TO HAPPEN.

The sound from a musician on stage bounces off the auditorium walls to surround the audience. The sound from a pigeon on stage does not do this. The reason is a coo sticks.

Looking for recs on 3D Printers. I've had 3 of them over the years. Most recently a Prusa Core One (very new printer, but moving it would have been a PITA, and my ex wanted it anyway). I liked the Prusa fine, esp being able to assemble it from kit myself, but it was basically tied with a Bamboo printer when I was evaluating them last. So I'm inclined to check out a Bamboo printer with a 4-color kit, but would love to get thoughts on specific models (or other makes) from anyone with exp...

Lovely localization bug discovered in Apple iOS Shortcuts just now by @goatsarah Note that numbers are localized with commas for decimal, and periods for thousands here. This is important. x = 23816 / 10937 // 2,17756240 Display arctan(x) // 1,5707963 This is not correct. arctan(2.17756240) == 1.1402940 What's up? Well, if you store your results as JSON strings truncated to 3 decimal places and localized {"x": "1,775"} and your JSON parser isn't locale aware... w...

@kicad ngl; Your elevator pitch is epic. ``` Build open source software. Give it away. We are structured to serve our userbase while being extremely unattractive to venture capital. None of us will get rich here but we will work to repair our little corner of the world. If this sounds appealing to you, then please reach out! ```

Also the case in Portugal. And fam, I do NOT want to admit to how long it took me to accept this. For weeks I was like, "none of these multipacks are already open, and I'm not going to break the seal on one". I since *have* gotten over this, but it took way too long. https://youtube.com/shorts/alMHAoZt6iU

Up to S1E14 Angel One of my TNG rewatch. Hoo-boy-howdy, do I have opinions about this episode. I'll save 'em for the podcast (still looking for a cohost), but I will say this: HOLY SHIZZ, I FORGOT HOW HAIRY JOHNATHAN FRAKES IS.

ST:TNG S1E25 Conspiracy: Data is talking to himself while absorbing information from a computer terminal. The computer thinks he's talking to it. Computer: Command not understood, please repeat. Data then goes on and on explaining why humans (and he) talk to themselves until the computer finally says: "Thank you sir, I comprehend." Penultimate episode of the season, but that was legit funny.

Trip to Ikea just now (recon mostly, only bought a few small items), was incredibly chill. Maybe my most relaxing Ikea trip ever. Yeah, it was working hours on a Tuesday, but also... it was completely familiar. The layout is bog standard Ikea, and yeah everything not in Swedish was in Portuguese, but whatever... they're ace at pictograms. It was all just... familiar.
