If you are like me and run your own private, Nextcloud server that isn't exposed to the internet and want to sync podcasts between your phone and computer using gPodder sync, you'll quickly discover that no podcast client will talk to a server with a self-signed certificate. Not because it's technically dangerous, but because the developers have chosen not to support it. A single checkbox would fix it. They've been asked. They won't do it. Why? Skip to the last paragraph. An...

Drugs are fun. AI is fun. Neither should be involved in important decision making processes. And used in moderation. For some people it's just best to stay away. In fact it was drugs that made AI's hallucinate in the first place. You know, let's just drop the whole drugs and AI future shall we?

Self-signed certificates is so easy to install on Android, a lot of developers refuse to even allow for manually verifying self-signed certificates. Just install the cert! It's so easy that developers don't even bother to tell people how to do it and all I find when I search the web is how difficult it it, particularly after google tighten in on the possibility. Security concerns, right. I get that. That's why I've used an unofficial, hacked #AntennaPod fork, outdated but suppo...

The new "waffle menu" on #nextcloud is reportedly adding more clicks navigating the webui with the expressed repo reasoning "to look more like google and microsoft". Just another reason why I only use Nextcloud as a sync server and don't interact with the webui. Another reason why I've semi-gapped the server through VPN so I can hold back updates. If I can't use third party clients, I don't bother anymore. I decided on this after waiting for repeating tasks...

The double-sided, high-density floppy disks are supposedly 1.44 MB. But in reality they're actually 1440 KiB, which makes 1.41 MiB or 1.47 MB according to some random math I found on the internet.

Today's big meeting was a success, plenty of important stuff was resolved and I'm confirmed as the chairwoman of the board for another year. :neofox__w_: Also some of the women snickered at my new appearance. I've utterly and irrevocably destroyed the mask I used to put on whenever I went out into the world. Speaking at the national convention about the need for a solid ethical framework in the organization for those who are volunerable to harassment or unfair treatment, both targeted and unintentional. Like those who want to fight for changes and a better organization but has to step on the toes of privilege. Like those who want to volunteer but one unintentional response can drive them back...

Standing in the hallway, see a shadow moving in the corner of my eye. Must be a bug in the bio. Go to bed, see a shadow fly across my bedroom floor. What?! Absolutely silent, am I hallucinating? Start investigating... It's a tiny shrew that must have snuck in when I came home and left the door open to air out the apartment. Spend 10 minutes rearranging my pad to create a lane to guide the shrew towards the door. No need for me to get loud and scary, it just followed the path and spent so...
