In a disconcerting turn of events it seems as if I'm going be interviewing ppl for software roles. So fedi, what's the best* hiring process you've been through for a tech role, and what did they do to make as non-shit as possible? Feel free to respond privately! *where "best" is relative...

Say what you will about discord as a company and closed ecosystem, but the experience of booting that sucker up and seeing someone chilling in the voice chat with the worst profile pic you've ever seen and the server nickname of "ham stroker's ejacula" and not knowing without further investigation whether that is your best friend of over 10 years or someone you have literally never met in your life is unique and special

EDIT: WoT has been found safely <3 Thanks everyone for looking! #cccamp23, have you seen this robot? About 3ft tall, 2 wheels, answers to "world 'o' techno". We haven't seen it in a day or so, so it's probably hidden in a corner somewhere. Please let us know if you see it or bring it back to the emf tent at milliways for some fresh batteries! cc/ @jarkman Boosts appreciated!
