Has anyone here read the Odyssey? Is it a good idea to do it before the movie comes out?

Things that give me a headache: - stress - hunger - dehydration - no caffeine - hot weather - not wearing sunglasses - crying Things that cause me nausea: - cramped vehicles - winding roads - stress Out of these, seven happened yesterday, so I did have a headache and felt nauseous.

Claude Code's leaked source code, gave me no small satisfaction that even I can write better code than some of the greatest and highest paid engineers in world. Looking at the quality of the code, they've clearly taken their eyes off the ball in terms of software engineering. Placing them on that pedestal, was my mistake.

I had to prepare some slides for a training session at work. I wanted it to be a PDF and not any of the presentation software formats. The options before me were raw Beamer, some kind of Org -> Beamer or #Typst. Typst seemed promising and started looking for a presentation framework. Ended up using https://typst.app/universe/package/touying/ and it was a pleasant experience. With plain text presentation source code, we can take advantage of version control. The agent helped me ge...

It's April and I haven't read a single book! Edit: In my defence, I spend hours each day reading Wikipedia articles, blog posts, random forum comments. I have been writing on paper, but it's mostly unpublished. It's just that I haven't done the chore of transcribing it and pushing a new version of my website.

@henry@radikal.social seeing that WP plays a big role in training models, it's in no one's interest to have widespread LLM usage there

@amenonsen@flipping.rocks Yeah, we have to be extremely picky about this. While watching TV shows, I stop watching at the inflection point where I feel the story is meandering. I'm not a completionist that way. "ditching things at the slightest hint of an internal twitch" yeah I'm gonna live by this. What else do we have to go by other than our gut?

@atoponce@fosstodon.org @rohitfarmer@fosstodon.org We should also factor in all the cost of producing all the original stuff that was used without consent for training

Bible study notes from the book of Acts. I want to replace the turquoise ink with something else. Maybe black, dark grey or brown. Please share your suggestions. For some weird reason there's a hangover from school days of being forbidden to use red (teachers) or green (principal) ink. Pens: Sheaffer and TWSBI Diamond 580 Iris. Ink: Pilot Iroshizuku Asa Gao (blue). Pelilan 4001 (turquoise). #fountainpen

I thought I'll learn something and started listening to a Systems Design podcast. The content seemed fine to me, but I heard them say "InJinks" for NGINX, and "CeeAyePee" Theorem for CAP Theorem. Now, it seems like it's AI generated and I can't find the names of the hosts anywhere. Unfortunately, the content is decent, so I'm feeling conflicted. What would you do in this situation?

I always felt I was good at estimating things. Once someone asked me how much time it takes to read the Bible cover to cover. I felt it would be as much as two LoTRs worth, so I said 50 hours. Everyone thought I was making up fertilizer and mocked me. Turns out it is around that much, and all those people are sadly not on here.
