Middle aged Progressive; I enjoy science and music - not in that order. I complain a lot. Hopium vendors need not apply, I'll only frustrate you.

Alt-text for profile pic: me, a middle aged white hippy sporting a beard and top hat. I don't *look* irritating.

Reply guy, drive-by poster. Don't worry, I'll agonize over my replies more than you will.

Note: "Shut up" is less polite than "You can stop talking now", but both work.

I do not consent to having my data scraped or bridged.

Seems like being a CEO is just a very expensive and destructive form of "hot potato" where as long as you can make your billions and get out before legal action occurs, you're safe. And when you see the end coming, all you have to do is promote a minority or a woman to the position and call it a job well done.

There's a guy here locally that keeps bringing up how high-strung I am and how I just need to relax. I've tried explaining generalized anxiety disorder and chronic depression to him, to which he replies, "just let it go, mate, ain't nothing you can do about the world. Just let it go." I asked him last night, "Have you tried just being taller?" which confused him. (he's not very tall) I said, *that* is what I'm up against. I'm not sad or anxious for &...

Boosts welcome Is there a way to delete some auto-populating tags? I type faster than the popup happens and OFTEN once I hit enter the wrong tag inserts itself. I'm terminally deleting and retyping and then *waiting* before I can post the music.

I don't know how I'll explain Donald Trump to my kids if I ever have them. But I'm thankful that I'll probably explain it to them in French.

First they came for the pregnant women and I did not speak up because I'm not a woman, and the women in my life have already had the kids that they're going to have, so they weren't going to be affected. Then they came for the books and I did not speak up because books remind me of having to read in school and I *hated* that. Then they came for the trans folks and I didn't speak up because I don't know any trans people and the idea of trans is confusing to me. Then they ca...

So when the Trump Admin uses voting records from 2026, post election, to arrest people that voted against "his picks", I wonder if that's going to be a wake-up call for people. The "they can't arrest us all" crowd will be along shortly, I'm sure.
