  i continue to not understand why "aura farming" posters (people who want to be popular, like celebs or journalists) post on private networks like bluesky/threads but then make it very difficult to *see the post* like, if you post something to threads, but i can't read it unless i open a private browser window and turn off javascript, maybe this is not a great way to go viral?

  there are a lot of different ways you could spell "apt list-versions", but "apt-cache madison" was not in my first 1000 guesses. this toot sponsored by: vscode pulled in a buggy version of electron that sets all ux elements to be circles, and the only fix is to downgrade. after the "firefox is all circles" crisis of this morning, i see that today's theme will be "everything is circles now!"

  i'm still reeling from the firefox ux debacle. it so obviously should have been a new theme. make it the new default theme and that would be a good way to let people discover the theme system. instead it seems to be some low-level hack that messes up EVERY theme! it bypasses the theme system completely. so anyone discovering the theme system (like me) becomes doubly frustrated. for the Nth time, i'm loudly wondering how we get firefox out mozilla's hands. the elves lef...
