  I did a little painting yesterday and used the wet palette. No matter what I did they just kept drying, even after the paper was basically floating on the water. I assume the paper was the issue it had been opened a while ago. Today I did a little with just a normal palette, one of those ones with tear off sheets. Stopped for about 2 hours and returned to mostly still wet paint. As best I can tell temperature and humidity haven't changed much. It's pretty odd (but probably explai...

  After a bit of back and forth on a few different games my partner has decided to try this hobby out with the game Bushido Risen Sun. After a good bit of reading and shopping I am genuinely surprised this game isn't a bigger deal, maybe just not everyone's jam thematically. Almost went Malifaux, and almost convinced her to try Relic Blade but this is the one. Rules seem really nice (mildly complex but good). Also found these rulers which are perfect

  The new song by Polyphia is catching a lot of flak for really just being noise. Maybe it's because I enjoy chiptune that's all noise channels or just that it slaps but listen to Power in the Blood and weigh in. Especially the back half. Adding in here that there's a whole chunk of the guitar riff that sounds just like Montero by Lil Nas X and I'm assuming it's on purpose

  Really looking forward to someone painting the new legion of the damned right. Models are alright, could have had a bit more damned, but that's a lot of good space for light effects and stuff.

  Listening to that first Evanescence album again and you can just sing the male vocal lines from bring me to life over just about every song. It's a good album imo but it's definitely one note

  I don't really pay attention to gaming news even for games I like but I just realised I missed an expansion for Mechwarrior 5 and there's another one due out this month. Think I'll treat myself to both when the new one comes out and take another run through.

  Re: pre-painted terrain. I get it. I really get it. Wonderful for people who don't enjoy painting it or don't have the time or the skill or all the right paints and stuff. It's great for all the people who like that I guess. But I hate it. I feel like it's some harbinger of a change in a very fundamental aspect of this hobby and I hate it so much! And I might be wrong and I'm ok with that. I'll away and find some clouds to yell at.

  Turns out I might be able to put a _lot_ more time into doing 3D modelling going forward, more now but we're also moving and I'll have more of a dedicated space for it too! What to work on first?!

  I've got the drawing bug real hard. At some point I crossed over into being able to fall into a flow state that feels like when I used to draw fantasy maps. It's still hard and I've still got loads to learn but it's fun now. So I spent like 2 days drawing this for my project. It will actually be about a third this size but I couldn't resist printing it out and trying a little colouring in. Need better paper and more pen colours.
