My daughter is still on her sewing kick, and is now making her own clothe. She made this belt out of retired climbing webbing. Used a sewing machine to add the star pattern using white thread.

I just learned about the Laguna Garzón Bridge in Uruguay and it's pretty cool! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laguna_Garz%C3%B3n_Bridge (Also, one of my neighbors is from Uruguay so I'm sort of interested in learning more about it.)

Today's bike ride to work sucked. Wearing a respirator for 30 minutes isn't very comfortable. I had to adjust it a few times and it was much worse breathing in the wildfire smoke so respirator it is. I can only assume our climate will get worse as time goes on so I figured I might want to get used to this. #BikeTooter #Wisconsin

I passed this kid riding what looks to be an emoto on the Oak Leaf Trail this morning. He was not riding like a dick, but definitely not pedaling, just throttle all the way. This is on part of the trail that is typically pretty empty, and this was around 7:15am. Didn't seem to be going crazy fast either so, eh... whatever.

Liberalism taught me that we can only try to prevent things from getting worse. Leftism taught me that we can try to build a better world.

@sallar@mastodon.social I guess I don’t care about the majority of users… I care about the users who actually give a shit.

We can see that the people speaking out about ICE and data centers is having an effect. Public opinion still matters, at least as long as we have (publicly) elected officials who are (supposed to be) beholden to their constituents. Let those fuckers know where you stand. Make noise, say it loudly, and repeat it so they cannot ignore it. It’s easy to feel hopeless, but remember, we outnumber them. They cannot exist without us. We have the power… we just need to use it.

@taylorlorenz@mastodon.social Real quick off the top of my head I usually say the Fediverse is not controlled by Billionaires, can't be bought/sold or controlled, isn't filled with ads, doesn't track you or try to sell your information, isn't filled with Nazis (they are on their own servers and I never see them because they are blocked) and there's not an algorithm trying to feed me crap I don't want to see.
