The new Preview app icon really is jarring. It's like skeuomorphism but for something that's not real. And it really doesn't convey any meaning, let alone something like "preview". Aren't icons supposed to represent concrete ideas? Otherwise isn't it just a texture? #macOS27

A punk cover of a classic song (although Marvin Gaye's 1968 version wasn't the first, Gladys Knight and the Pips released the first version in 1967). The Slits – I Heard It Through the Grapevine https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pSq3-lE377Q #MondayCovers

I just discovered the Fediverse (English) Wikipedia page has a huge section on AT Protocol and I question why. It seems like excessive promotion of Bluesky and its protocol that is not compatible with ActivityPub, both technically and in spirit. Illustrating bridging isn't the same as compatibility. Might as well add sections for other random network protocols like XMPP (Jabber). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fediverse #ActivityPub #Fediverse #wikipedia

@mattiem@mastodon.social This has been on my mind as well. I was on the verge of getting a Vision Pro for development but have put that on hold indefinitely, and I always get the latest MacBook Air for my work but I'm disinclined to do so when the new M4 one comes out. Apple is noted for maintaining their DEI initiatives (so far), so there's that. But going back to Xitter is a hard thing to take.
