In a move that absolutely no one asked for: I am porting the Windows Vista/7 desktop Gadgets to Wayland with some GTK sorcery. These widgets are actually zip files with web resources plus some metadata. I got the Machine CPU and RAM stats working, along with some of Microsoft's weird JS API's.

@cwebber@social.coop @spritely@social.coop Will you pick an existing project and nurture it? Or start from scratch? There are plenty of alternative Discord-projects out there, some of which already have some degree or promise of federation. I would find it wasteful to start the Nth competitor. XKCD 927.

The counter argument is that Bitlair is already hard to find by people as-is as we have no cl...

Hey Europeans! If you do not like what the State of Israel is doing to Palestinians, Lebanese and the stability of the Middle East in general, then please please sign this petition on halting the EU-Israel Association Agreement: https://citizens-initiative.europa.eu/initiatives/details/2025/000005_en Germany 🇩🇪 is still a big country that is still below the threshold, so if you are German and have not signed yet, then please do so and spread it along your fellow countrymen!

Back home again from #39c3 and new years celebrations Please remember to take the time for aftercare for your post-con drop. You will have likely exhausted your brains happy-chemicals so feeling like shit would not be out of the ordinary Rest, talk to people, rewatch some lectures. At least that is what I will be doing And thank you all for being there! I always enjoy the vibe of people acting out their unmoderated weird self :blobhaj_heart:

Today's rabbit hole: getting the MediaWiki site of @bitlair to look more modern. I already got its looks up from 2003 to 2012, now let's see if I can push it to look like a site from >2020...

Oh btw, here is the yearly particulate matter readout around new years. Mind you that I was not at home and kept everything closed. I did forgot to switch off the mechanical ventilation, which is likely how it still got inside 😬
