  The Democratic party is over. Republicans went mask off authoritarian. Democrats went mask off authoritarian fandom. Any other party has a better chance at winning a popular vote, than the Democrats do. Republicans only appeal to people who respect strength and aren't paying attention. Democrats appeal to no one.

  You can try to be subtle about it. Changes in haircuts and styles can make it less obvious. I tried not to give it away, but of course, I knew it was me, both times. (I'm both very perceptive and surpringly self-absorbed, so I couldn't fool me.)

  Anecdotally, I have found [Conversations](https://f-droid.org/packages/eu.siacs.conversations/) (XMPP federated chat) is better for battery life on GrapheneOS than Signal. The onramp is more complicated. I learned the hard way that uptime history is the only aspect I really care about when choosing a server.
