RE: https://c.im/@cdarwin/117379160076062611 This should immediately end any consideration, they should be fined per tree, and barred from all construction for 5 years.

I love that Messages on macOS has said I have 1 unread message for weeks now, even though if I say “show me unread” it shows nothing. Quality software all around. I know counting is hard, but still...

Also, love that the latest Libreoffice update just randomly turns the task bar mint green. And there seems to be no way to change that.

I love when people are like “why did you decline our 5am meeting with no context or agenda?” I dunno, Carl. Do better. If, after 3 years, you cannot remember that I am on PST, even though it’s in my teams status, email signature, Outlook availability, that seems like a you problem not a me problem.

Oh and found out from a friend that their repayment on their student loans are jumping from $300/mo to $1k+ because of the end of the SAVE program. Just what everyone needs right now. https://studentloanborrowerassistance.org/the-save-plan-is-ending-what-borrowers-in-save-need-to-know/

I miss the ethics of Richard Nixon.

I miss the deeply snarky writing of the dotcom era that really didn’t take anything bloviating CEOs said seriously. We need more of that in the press.

You too can pay $16 for a single 100Ω resistor. https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/vpg-foil-resistors/Y4022100R000Q0R/2641005 I mean, the VPG is a dead giveaway isn't it?

I wonder what you could build as a retro-inspired home computer based on something like the STM32H7S7? You'd need external memory and PSRAM, but I suspect you could get something amazing out of it. 600MHz, HW graphics (1024x768), audio (I2S), FD-CAN (a fun extension bus), 10/100 Ethernet, even SPDIF. They're around $10/each in small quantities. It's not a full microprocessor (no MMU), but it's going to be wildly more powerful than something like the Acorn Archimedes (12MHz).

I am simply being tortured by someone talking about AI constantly in a way only someone who knows nothing about anything can be confident. But the coffee is good.

It doesn’t come as a shock that so many OSS “personalities” are coming out fascist. So many have been vocal libertarians. And that’s just a fascist in a frock.

New OS rule. No threads. Onky lightweight processes and cheap IPC. Memory wasn’t meant to be shared.

Why aren’t you shopping at your neighborhood Asian grocery store? Just hit the Thai grocery near me and for < $30 I have a metric ton of herbs, limes, shallots, quite a few vegetables, 3 large cartons of cocoanut milk, 4 tins of Maesri curry paste, refilled my palm sugar supply and a banh mi.
