  @marcan as an additional potentially helpful datapoint, on my M1 Max Macbook Pro, I updated to Ventura 13.6 a while back, before seeing any of the discussion about this, but according to the Asahi installer, I have OS version 13.6 and also Main Firmware version 13.6, seeming not to follow the pattern you observed where many installs of 13.6 have the 14.x firmware, perhaps I installed it before the 14.0 firmware was released?

  @marcan @manawyrm @fluepke at some point could this be exposed in a more hobbyist-friendly way in Asahi Linux? I'd love to have a built-in UART, i2c, and GPIO interface that would only need a passive breakout, perfect for tons of embedded electronics projects!
