Argh! A squirrel was sitting on the trellis and eating this ripe butternut squash when we got there. 🧡🐿️👀😂 It must’ve been yummy! I’m fine with it, squirrels can have some. We harvested 6 butternuts today! And there are still a few more growing. #communityGarden #GardenPlot14

I just *rescued* a “free” new-looking crockpot from the day of rain. Some neighbor on our street left it on the sidewalk for someone to take it. Now we have to find a space for it in the kitchen, but I’ve been thinking about buying one for a long time. Hopefully it will work once it completely dries out. 🤞 I just hate shiny useful things going into the landfill. ♻️ #reuse #RainyDay

Remember? about a week ago, I pleaded with you never to use rat poison? after having seen a squirrel carrying a blue poison cake up the tree in our condo yard? This afternoon, I found a seriously weakened squirrel in my flowerbed while changing birdbath water. After I contemplated what to do for several minutes, decided to bring him indoors, so he can rest in a safe place. He didn’t resist at all when I gently picked him up. At first, he nibbled on some apple and looked a tad hopeful. He even...

Friends, people of the Fediverse, Please vow never to use rat poison. I just saw a squirrel carried a blue cake of rat poison up the honeylocust tree in our condo yard. The squirrel will only nibble a little, discard and drop it somewhere, where any child/pet/wildlife can reach and … . We collectively do have the power to make this realm a kinder place for all living being. Thank you. 🫶💚 #ratpoison #squirrel #rats #birds

So, I wasn’t sure if the cottontail mom would nest in the raised herb bed because I planted onion sets this spring, but she didn’t disappoint us! 😂🥰🐰🐇🐇 This evening, we saw 2 teeny baby buns in there!! I’m glad I left the corner hole and the nesting material for them. They’re only wee bigger than our red onions! 🥹💕 #humaneGarden #GardenPlot14 #babyCottontail #rabbit
