The #AI we are seeing today is an affront to being human. And yet humans are leading that charge - squandering resources that could otherwise be used to help and sustain people's well-being, choosing to replace their own words with slop, and displacing their own in the workforce. The race to self-destruct would be comical if I didn't have kids soon to be independent in this disaster.

Since we're looking at 5 year backlogs on natural gas turbines for data centers, I think we can correctly refer to AI output as "gassy slop"

I've been using Fedilab for long enough now that I don't even remember why I chose it. I've tried the official Mastodon app a few times, but came back to Fedilab because familiar felt better (and I remember the official app seemed like it used more real estate to present less information). What does all that mean? Hell if I know, but what I do know is I have a choice. And I love that.

It's almost like self control and consideration of others matters. Cuz the other option is $4.99 9/10 per forking gallon.

You don't have to turn a #piano on. You walk past it, feel the need to play a little 20-second something... and continue with whatever less important thing it was that you were doing. What luxury 🎹

You know what you can't DDOS? A decentralized network. Now you know what Bluesky isn't, if you didn't before.

A nice BMX ended up in my Dad's garage. So I'm borrowing it to try and learn manuals and proper bunny hops. When the world gives you lemonade, learn how to drink it?

uBlock Origin's right-click->Block element rocks! I see sh*t that says "AI Assist" or "Ask AI" and I block those bastards so they never render for me again. 🎉

Listening outside the door to my child's guitar lesson. Human-made music is such a wonderful thing. Thank goodness this is still a thing we do. Let's not stop.

We have a 64-key Melodigrand. Finding a #piano tuner was harder than expected, so I bought a tuning hammer, some mutes, and decided to give it a go. The entire piano was nearly a half-step flat after 5 years. And many unisons were ... not unisons 😁 My first DIY tuning was successful and painless for a few reasons: 1. The Tuner app on @fdroidorg@floss.social is phenomenal - https://f-droid.org/en/packages/de.moekadu.tuner/ 2. This piano only has 2 strings per key on the trebles (instead of 3)...
