I wrote something new (ostensibly #nownownow related) for my #SmallWeb website on August 1, so it became my accidental first post for #Blaugust2026 https://www.omz13.com/words/nownownow

The #Brusk #museum in #Brugge is a wonderful space. The “Latent City” expo is mesmerizing.

This has to be one of the saddest playgrounds I’ve seen. #photography captured this awful space on the E42 between Jemeppe-sur-Sambre and Spy.

At the #groeningemuseum in #Brugge this piece by Dan Van Severen (titled Vierkante compositie [Square Composition]) caught my eye. The #photography does not do it justice to seeing it IRL.

If you talk about missing the #WeirdWeb (or whatever) but were born after the web appeared, you have #anemoia not nostalgia. If you didn’t experience having to install Trumpet to get winsock, kindly STFU.

I am going to get nothing achieved today… because #RetroGaming because somebody ported “Frak” from #BBCMicro to run in-browser: https://tobybuk.github.io/BBCMicro_6502WebCompiler/FrakJS/

I did a bit of #AudioDev for the past few days, but eventually I finally got my pipeline to work. I have mixed feelings about demuxing a html stream, piping aac/mp3 across #FFmpeg to get PCM, doing some manipulation (because FFTs are fun), then calling #PortAudio to call #CoreAudio to make the speakers go beep-boop.

@tony If the customer does not scream, does the data not exist in the first place? (Remember when data retention meant a bunch of tapes or worm media sitting in a vault that you could physically check instead of bits in a cloud that would evaporate into silicon dust at the most inappropriate time)

The snowdrops are out in force, and it feels like spring in the air (which is a bit weird because the weather is getting far too warm for this time of year). #photography

October? October! Are you kidding me. This sucks.
