My eyes have been struggling with reading anything light on dark again lately so here's a gentle reminder for anybody who needs to hear it that a lack of light mode is an accessibility issue too

i don't like when fedi users do this twitter thing of writing a post that goes "hot take but X is bad actually" and then just not elaborating. like. whose engagement are you trying to farm here exactly just articulate your opinion

being Slavic and speaking English is like. I've known this language for the majority of my life. I've been hanging out in English-speaking spaces since I was a little kid. but the moment my brain gets a bit tired and decides it doesnt have the energy to process all that my ability to use the articles "the" and "a/an" properly is the first on the chopping block

what sort of genius decides that a language-learning app's language - and therefore foreign language courses available to the user - should be 100% reliant on the device's language and impossible to change manually? language learners, famously known to be monolingual

there are beings in the world who read books because they like them and find reading fun and maybe even relaxing and don't have to like, force themselves to do it. and definitely don't need to be praised for it. you know

today i dreamt there was a terrifying spider falling on my bed from the ceiling and approaching me slowly and menacingly so i quickly got up and left the room to call for reinforcements (bring another family member for emotional support) but once i opened the door to my room to get back in i saw one of my bunnies bravely spraying spider repellent all over my bed. and thus i was saved

pros of befriending the jackdaws: theyre cute and goofy cons of befriending the jackdaws: why is this bird knocking on my window with its beak. youre going to destroy the mosquito net don't do that!!!!!!

alright, i think i'm done for now. i've set up a purely photography-focused alt account at @Vasirion :abunhdhappyhop: you're free to follow if you'd like, but u don't have to, i'll continue posting photos here too just as i have. that alt is a page where i want to showcase my stuff semi-anonymously, without linking to my other accounts - you know, so that i can show it to people irl if they ask me to without having to out myself. i do like that vernissage automatically...

letterboxd should have an option for writing a private, user-side only note on each movie's page, so that we could write down why we decided watching a certain movie might be a bad idea/started watching a movie but DNF-ed it/decided a movie might be worth watching despite having a premise that doesn't sound all that interesting would help with memory issues so much
