This afternoon I’m trying out my Darjeeling puttabong summer. It’s delicate and fruity, very light and mild. #tea

    Happy international tea day!

This afternoon I’m drinking ya bao from Dobrá Tea with an almond cookie from Dancing Bear. Ya bao is without question my favorite white tea, the only white I always keep on hand. It’s a lovely light spicy flavor that resteeps beautifully, I’m on the sixth steeping and it’s just starting to lose a bit of flavor.

This afternoon I tried a sticky rice shou tuo pu’er. I don’t drink much pu’er, like I think this is the fourth time I’ve had it. This was really delightful at first and then started warning me that it could take my stomach in a fight, which is why I haven’t historically drunk a lot of pu’er. So I enjoyed the sticky rice flavor a lot and then stopped steeping after the third round. I have another little round of this but may rehome it. #tea

I’m seriously so much happier now that I can have tea again. The two years of no caffeine were sad, shriveled years where people kept trying to comfort me with herbal blends. Tea life forever! #tea

Drinking kamairicha and debating how much to stock up on stamps before the postage increase, I send a lot of international mail. #tea #postcrossing

Today I had qi lan xiang dan cong. It basically tasted like a very light da hong pao with faint honey notes and a great aftertaste. I quit after seven steepings, though I probably could have gotten a few more out of these leaves. #tea

Migraine day four, it’s all the weather we’ve been having. Drinking first flush Darjeeling, which was my original gateway to loving black tea. I have a cat on my lap, blackberries and mochi to go with the tea, and a book I’m interested in. Will sleep again soon. #tea #chronicillness

Today I’m trying Wu Liang hong mao feng, which is malty with chocolate undertones, lovely. I wish I’d been organized enough to get a pastry to go with this but I used up today’s spoons yesterday when I went to the People’s Pride and I’m not going anywhere today. #tea

Drinking Imperial Mojian golden bud Yunnan black today as part of a Dian hong sampler I picked up recently from Yunnan Sourcing. It’s got a wonderful chocolate aroma and the flavor does not disappoint. #tea

I’ve got some family stuff coming up so I got myself a little travel tea set. Now I have to address heating water in places like an airplane, any tea drinkers solved this problem already? #tea

I’m watching a CLE and I should have counted the numbers of times the presenter says “walks in the world,” it would make a decent drinking game.

I was having a nice afternoon drinking tea and hanging out with my cat when he reached out and knocked my teacup onto the floor, breaking it and spilling my third steeping of middle mountain wild ba xian dan cong. I really liked that cup, too. #tea

Drinking Wi Liang hong mao feng, this is maybe the second best of the Yunnan Sourcing dian hong sampler, where golden needle is the obvious winner because it’s my favorite tea. I hurt a lot today and am not doing great on focusing but at least the tea is good. #tea

This afternoon I’m drinking a Kagoshima sencha. I’m drinking a lot of sencha because I didn’t read the package carefully enough and it’s going to oxidize significantly after about two months. Next time I’ll be getting enough shincha for the year, but not open everything right away - which is very hard because I’ll have to wait to drink a new tea.

This morning’s tea was a Yunnan fengqing black tea pagoda, which is basically blooming black tea. This is about what is expect for a blooming tea, it’s okay but not amazing. Some good dark flavors, not at all fruity. It’s… fine? #tea
