I hate waking up to my computer being completely unresponsive (and the fan on at max speed) because it ran out of memory at some point in the night and linux's oom killer is fucking useless

I was looking at your GNU Guix channel, especially how you frame packages that are fully free software but not always ready to be upstreamed. I’m curious how are you dealing with context loss from compaction? what?

does anyone know what the pinout is for the 8P8C serial port on IBM Power System servers (specifically it is compatible with IBM part number 46K5108, which is absurdly expensive for a passive adapter so I don't want to buy it)? it does not seem to be the standard EIA/TIA-561

I see lgbtqia.space has replaced the GeoDNS block for the UK on their CDN with something even more obnoxious. Literally every image is now this, including custom emoji. Instead of media just not loading and me seeing the alt text/emoji name only instead, I now see this for every image.

matrix is not an instant messaging protocol it just took 16 minutes for a message I sent to be received by an IRC relay, in no way is that "instant" (and that's not even the worst example, I've had messages delayed by multiple days or even weeks)
