Bullshit! Entities should be held accountable for the words and actions of their founders / leaders. 1. If an org truly doesn’t share the bigoted values of their founder then the org should very publicly separate itself from that individual by any means. Has Omacom done this with DHH??? 2. If the individual has direct ownership/control of the org and can’t be removed… Well then the argument that the founder is not the organization is complete bullshit. See screenshot alt text for full email r...

RE: https://mastodon.social/@Sarahp/116602586169194279 A. I hate this. Glad I haven’t used Google Search as my default in maybe 5+ years now! B. TechCrunch blocking ad blockers and being an awful reading experience is depressing. Google’s AI scraping will probably kill most of that ad revenue 🙃

RE: https://nileane.fr/@younishd/116602293955402234 I will always prefer a mouse that doesn’t need awful driver software or a wireless dongle… I have a simple USB gaming mouse that I prefer over the more fancy or wireless ones I’ve owned.

RE: https://mastodon.social/@timberwraith/116614198812090258 It’s always interesting hearing my younger friends who didn’t really experience the 1990s and early 2000s react to media of the era. I can’t imagine being a kid today. There was still more mainstream queer phobic and sexist humor that didn’t age well but things did feel more optimistic and headed in a good direction. Even being an environmentalist was still considered cool so we had kids shows like Captain Planet and Bill Nye the Sc...

:linux:💻 I’m going to install Linux (Bazzite GDX or a similar distro) on a Lenovo Yoga C940 my partner has lying around. My motivation is to have a secondary travel laptop—my heavy 16” MacBook Pro sucks to lug around for long. Between Penpot, Figma, and Affinity (via Wine) I should be able to do most design essentials. Fun excuse to tinker with Linux more! https://www.404media.co/the-weird-way-the-404-media-zine-was-built/ #Linux #Bazzite #KDE

Anyone know of a guide on how to migrate a Build Awesome (11ty) site to Forgejo from GitHub? I somehow got stuck on the SSH auth setup last I tried 😭 I may just need to try again with fresh eyes. I've been deploying to Neocities with GitHub Actions thanks to @sophie's great guide. I'm sure Forgejo actions will also be a sticking point so any tips here would be awesome. https://localghost.dev/blog/how-i-deploy-my-eleventy-site-to-neocities/ #Neocities #BuildAwesome #11ty...

RE: https://indieweb.social/@stevestreza/116439142982414023 Echoing @stevestreza Apple doesn’t excite me anymore… A handful of amazing native third-party apps, my investment in hardware, and laziness keep me in their ecosystem for now. I do love my MacBook Pro M1 Max — largely due to refusing to upgrade to macOS 26 Tahoe 🙃 Apple still makes sexy luxury hardware but wow their software has mostly gotten worse year-after-year for the past 5-ish years and become a trap for their subscription s...
