  I put my spacebar on my Compaq MX-11800 the wrong way so I took it off but the switch flew off and I haven’t been able to fix it so the spacebar doesn’t continuously press. So now I’m looking at needing soldering tools and a new switch…but if I gotta buy all that stuff, might as well have all new switches, right? I’m annoyed.

  A weird side effect of the prevalence of LLMs is my increased focus on ensuring my code is solid af. I used to code faster but am taking a more methodical approach to coding. I use Claude extensively to build things I don't have the bandwidth for and when I get around to checking out its code, I rewrite it because it comes with unnecessary boilerplate or doesn't remember my coding preferences. Idk, just a random "ah, interesting" thought.

  The new Mario film was fantastic. Just watched it with my boy and we stayed for the AFTER after credit scene. I won't spoil who makes an appearance but you can find that for yourself if you want. Looking forward to an eventual Smash Bros film but I feel like we need a few Metroid and Zelda films first. DK needs his own film(s) too.

  @joshcalvetti 1000%, that's the nuance that's lost on both sides of the debate. Humans are gonna have to work harder to differentiate but at the same time, the humans who have actual skill in code/design are gonna be better off. The doomerism and breathless wonder about the future of computing are both extreme. The truth is always in the middle.
