There was an unfortunate error while changing the kernel.org primary/secondary mirroring infrastructure, which resulted in the /pub tree suddenly becoming empty. No data was lost, just public mirror copies. Everything is now being restored, but deletes are fast and restores are slow, so thank you for your patience! EDITED: You can follow the official incident here: https://status.linuxfoundation.org/incidents/3y1k8b4ky71t

@mhoye@cosocial.ca This post builds up a straw man just to set it on fire. The logos you posted are from companies that donate directly to kernel.org (not Linux Foundation). Kernel.org is a separate legal entity from Linux Foundation and is a registered charitable organization. Donating to kernel.org is tax deductible whereas contributing to the Linux Foundation isn't. These companies are gladly and willingly donating their resources to kernel.org specifically. The companies supporting kern...

EU traffic to lore.kernel.org is now served by two OVH-hosted nodes, one in Strasbourg, another in Warsaw. Huge thanks to OVH for their support!

@jpab@mastodon.gamedev.place Are you allowed to fork it and make changes? Because I think we'd all like that.

Here's a prototype of "b4 review" with a nicer textual ui. What do you think? https://asciinema.org/a/776900

This post on post-quantum cryptography sent to the gnupg-users list is both amusing and insightful: https://lists.gnupg.org/pipermail/gnupg-users/2026-April/068253.html

TLDR: use korgalore to bypass mailing list delivery problems If you're a Gmail or Outlook user and you're subscribed to high-volume mailing lists, you're probably routinely missing mail. Korgalore is a tool that monitors mailing lists via lore.kernel.org and can import mail directly into your inbox so you don't miss any of it. You can also couple korgalore with lei for powerful filtering features that can reduce the firehose to what you'd actually find us...

b4 review getting started documentation, with screencasts: https://b4.docs.kernel.org/en/latest/reviewer/getting-started.html Still requires unreleased master version -- I'm hoping for some initial tests before I release 0.15.

b4 review landed in b4 master. I'll post a bunch of stuff tomorrow announcing it, but if you want to give it an early whirl, go ahead. The docs are a bit scant, but they should get you started. You'll need python textual framework. To start, run "b4 review enroll" in a repo where you'll be reviewing code. Then run "b4 review tui". After that, you can run "b4 review track <msgid>" to pull in a series to r...

"b4 bugs tui" landed in master, but I'm out of time today to write an announcement. Just some very basic scant details here: https://b4.docs.kernel.org/en/latest/maintainer/bugs.html More tomorrow, along with a proposal how I hope this will help replace bugzilla and augment "just send an email".

https://asciinema.org/a/890396 b4 bugs tui demo -- it's still an early prototype, but it's showing some of the UI for importing a bug from lore, adding a comment, replying to the reporter.
