The #GuardrailGuy is usually quite matter of fact, considering how his daughter was killed by a faulty guardrail, but he got emotional when showing how this truck was speared by a guardrail. https://www.instagram.com/reel/DcPz__fpDpR/ #HighwaySafety

I've been resisting buying adorable electric #microcars, but this one might just be too adorable. Look at that boat tail! https://www.instagram.com/reel/DcRCLT1Ikxk/

I was skeptical of this @TechConnectify video title and that Alec's water heater is cooler than mine, since I installed basically the same make and model of #HeatPump water heater in my house almost 5 years ago. However, his is just using a 120V circuit and isn't taking up two slots in his electrical panel, so I guess he is actually cooler. https://youtu.be/F_7B2shTPPU #TechnologyConnections

This guy's idea of #MonopolyFraming (a continuous thermal barrier between internal and external framing) kinda makes me wish we cut the ends off our house's rafters, though otherwise we are close to this method with the exterior foam insulation we installed. https://youtu.be/YHbzoK-ETN8?si=B19rU_nySOtglm1e #architecture #building

Before and after the mineral wool installation in our attic today. Alas, we had to say goodbye to some of the beautiful 90-year-old wood. #HomeRennovation

Saw a story about a guy who brought back a waterway in eastern Oregon by building dams to capture the infrequent rain, which was very inspiring. I just wish I could find a video to link to that wasn't an #AI regurgitation that might be distorting the facts.

The drywaller has gone a bit extra with masking off the attic. I understand throwing paper on any surfaces adjacent to installation, but the dude put paper over the RAM board that was already protecting the floor. At least he didn't use plastic, or I'd be worried that he is preparing to murder someone. #HomeRennovation

Anyone in #Portland have a length of 4-inch cast iron pipe? We need to extend our main plumbing stack above the new roof that is going to be 6-inches higher.

I'm sure glad I left the #FireWeed growing in the yard two years ago, even through it is now eight feet tall and has taken over that corner of the yard. It is the first thing I see out the window in the morning and the last thing at night when I get into bed. #FensterFreitag #Bloomscrolling

Adorable electric vehicle alert! I love this new #Telo Truck design. It does not look super-small in absolute terms, seemingly the exact size and shape as a minivan, but much much smaller than every regular pickup being sold in the US right now, and it can actually be used in urban areas. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1OgN_qctcGs #EVs

We brought visiting family to the #FosterFoodCarts yesterday, which turned out to be a mistake since almost all the carts are closed on Tuesday, so I went across the street to #IshtarGate. It kinda looked like a sketchy hole in the wall between some dumpsters and a tire shop, with just a computer on the sidewalk to order from instead of a person. It took them quite some time to make the food, but it ended up being the best falafel I've had in #Portland.

A bit of a #ThickTrunkThursday postscript, but now that the weather is nice in #Portland, we are finally able to use the beautiful table that #BurlAndGrain in #HillsboroOR made from our beloved #HoneyLocust that fell over in the ice storm two years ago!

Anyone else in #Portland having weird mobile Internet coverage? We are on #GoogleFi (because traditionally it has had the best coverage from multiple carriers) and it has only been connecting to LTE instead of 5G for the past day.
